Granted, Britain receives a massive in pour of US Weapons, not the technology but the weapons, first ones dropping from suborbital trajectories baking bases and shipyards, then armored divisions and soldiers merrily carrying them. I wish for the snow to cease for the next couple days.

Banned for not being inhuman and without a soul.
In Entrenchment, the Starbases are basically like castles and the TEC torpedo launcher could be analogous to a siege engine. How about some more variety of siege engines? Massive plasma and laser cannons, in-gravity-well Novalith cannons, a massive anti-matter blaster which would vaporize not only chunks of the starbase's healthpoints away but also anything in between it and the starbase.
I like the TEC best though. Also, a phase stabilizer node isn't quite as versatile as a ship-transporter could be. Consider this, having a ship able to load with any variety of ships you want, within space limits for the total number carry-able, and be able to instantaneously transport to any known/mapped gravity well. Not a wait for ships to travel all the way across the universe in phase space, but site to site, allowing for a ready battlegroup of capital ships to be deployed almost anywher
What I'd like to see would be thus: Military: Logistics ships Capital ship carrier with instantaneous well to well travel capability so long as the well is explored (the idea originated AFAIK by the author of Star Strike, pseudonym Ian Douglas) Boarding party craft, capable of hijacking ships, space stations, and otherwise allowing for the capture of enemy structures (and perhaps associated technology). (this also from I
I've been reading a book by an author with the pseudonym of Ian Douglas, Star Strike. In it there's a rather interesting vessel, the Hermes which was previously named SkyBase. This vessel has the capability of phasing out of normal space into "paraspace"/subspace/Dirac Sea/etc and instantaneously transporting itself anywhere in the universe so long as the gravity well it is jumping to has been mapped. SkyBase/Hermes is capable of carrying almost half a dozen capital ships along with it in the
Bad Idea: kinetic rounds traveling with zero relative velocity with respect to the target vessel. In space! Good Idea: incorporating the idea of a capital ship carrier which can instantly transport to any explored gravity well (as per the book Star Strike by Ian Douglas) into SoaSE. Along with having Marine Boarding Craft capable of hijacking enemy ships and orbital platforms.
Bad Idea: using weapons which don't work against a threat which can easily kill by brute force alone. Good Idea: neutron bombs.
Banned for having a long history of mock-trial conferences.
Bad Idea: using weapons from the Punic War to fight alien hoards. Good Idea: using weapons from the second world war, specifically the one first tested at Trinity NM in 1945, against the alien hoard.
Bad Idea: that isn't your fighter craft above! Good Idea: needs more cowbell. <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344" src="http://www.you
Bad Idea: purging the clean. Good Idea: just bombarding the alien planets and getting it over with rather than wasting the lives of space marines.
Bad Idea: kill the non-mutant. Good Idea: developing the technology to construct a Starladder.
Bad Idea: HERETICVM INCENDITE. Good Idea: VNIVERSITATEM VINCITE!
Bad Idea: fighting against an equivalent to the xenomorphs of LV426 with nothing but sharp sticks. Good Idea: nuking the site from orbit just to be sure.
Bad Idea: courage without prudence. Good Idea: counting the costs and assessing the cost versus benefit of using a melee attack on an opponent which would be superior in melee combat, and perhaps using the bloody bayonet as a throwing knife.

If you've become bored with the AI and feel it's no longer a challenge, playing other people is the way to go.[/quote] I find the AI is fun to play against, at least until the game is "won" and then they give up attacking.
Bad Idea: laser guns with a power output of less than .5 Watt. Good Idea: electrolasers with the ability to alter the electrical signal frequency from anywhere between 50 Hertz (lethal) to 10,000 Hertz (nonlethal, stungun).
Bad Idea: using a serum from Resident Evil to resurrect this thread. Good Idea: shotguns.
I had been ignoring this game for a few months after I had updated and had been unable to play any of my saved games, but just a few days ago I decided to play again. Probably a bad time because I'm near finals week in school, but it only took 8 hours and 40 minutes to win a two star game (Gateway map), which is a couple of weeks shorter than I usually take to play a game. It's still rather a fun game. Taking a vacation from it for the past few months has helped me to appreciate how cool the

It may be nebulous, vague, and ambiguous, perhaps partly cloudy with a chance of lasagna. I am thinking of something which costs far more than it's worth, something which provides arbitrary deadlines for the composition of literary fluff, something which glorifies format over substance and jargon over concepts, that assigns grandiose quantities of material to read but supersedes the importance of such assignments by the aforementioned deadlines, something
