I'm not sure what the heck the entertainment industry is up to really. They usually try to cater to the current generation, possibly my generation of people born in the 80's, hence the 25yo MIT dropout unemployed gamer nerd. I'm not sure though, I think the shows of the late 80's through early 90's had the best acting and plots out there.
