Try verifying the application through Impulse: -Launch Impulse. Hold down the shift key, and right click on the entry for the application and choose "Verify Installation" -Impulse will check the integrity of the installed application. You should be given feedback as to the state of the installed application. -If errors are found, an update should be made available in Impulse. This is not an update to a newer version, but simply Impulse using the update mech

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and link the contents into a post here via pastebin . This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem. The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs ; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session.
It's possible it has something to do with your video card. It uses shared memory, rather than dedicated memory, so it's possible the way XP handles that is different than Vista or 7. Sins technically requires 128MB of video memory, and shared memory doesn't quite fit that bill. Not saying that's definitely the cause, but it's a likely suspect.
What a crazy random happenstance !
It's registered to your account properly, so there's no problem there. If you go to https://www.stardock.com/support and enter your email address, you'll be sent an email with a download link for the theme. The link will expire in 24 hours, but you can request another email if needed.
First, make sure this is not checked: Then, make sure the games weren't individually hidden somehow:
Typhylo: Send the serial number to with any email addresses you have, and we'll see if we can set things straight for you. Most of these issues arise from different email addresses being used for the purchase and the account. If you know the email addresses, and have access to both, you can use our merge tool to merge the registrations together to one a
Or you can simply disable it from within the program itself...
Keep in mind that Stardock's offices are closed on the weekend, so there's usually a delay on tickets submitted then. Also, to avoid this in the future, if you're buying a serial number for a friend, make sure to purchase it as a gift so they can access the serial number themselves.

Because I like pictures:
We had issues with some 3rd party games and the verify option, so we made it harder to use without knowing what you were doing. If you hold down 'shift' when you right click, it will be there. Here's the full instructions: To clear out your mesh files, you'll need to go into the application folder (right click in Impulse, select 'Open application folder'), and there are three different 'Mesh' folders. The first is in the root folder, and there may be two more, depending on
Try updating to the latest version of the game through Impulse and see if that helps.
It's possible old data from previous patches are gumming up the works. Try going here: XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic Vista/7: C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Elemental - War of Magic Delete everything in that folder except the sig.bin file and see if that helps.
Could you be more specific about what is happening? Are you getting any errors? If so, what are they, and when do they occur?
Where did you set your download directory to? Generally, selecting the root of a drive works best, as Impulse will create a its own directory to use there. Make sure this is the option you've changed:
Try disabling Avast entirely for the duration of the installation process and see if that helps. You can also try downloading and running the following file: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/stardock_access.bat Save the file, right click it and select "Run as Administrator" if you're on Vista/Windows 7, just run it if you're on XP. This may solve your issue.
Do you have any security software running that might be locking the file?
What Ryat said.
It sounds like you're logging into Impulse with an account that the games are not registered to. Contact with the serial numbers and any email addresses they may be registered to and we'll try to sort this out for you.
I seem to remember there being a conversation about this exact thing recently, so I'd expect it to be addressed in some way.
The bad thing here is that I see nothing in the game that stops infinite city spamming
Well, for one, on a finite sized map, there is only so much space in which to build these cities. It also means, you have to put more into defending those cities, so that's more resources tied up. You also may spread yourself thin, which means those cities are more vulnerable to being taken over. Plus, if your food source is he
You may need to turn on the 'show hidden files and folders' option in explorer, but the folder is there. You can also get to it by typing it in the address bar manually.
In the upper right of Impulse, there is a blue question mark. Click on it, and select 'View error log'. Take a look around the time that the download was supposed to finish and see if there's anything interesting. Feel free to ignore 'Updated network xml did not have expected revision' items, as they're not really errors, just messages.
If you use the 'Download and Archive' feature in Impulse (right click on the game), you can download a .archive file, which you can transfer to the other computer, and use Impulse to restore the archive (blue menu button, upper left). This will get you the full game, not the update, but it will be the most up-to-date version available.
