Playing as the Terrans in TA 2.03, I used ARC to set my homestar as Thalis and used the trick to get two decent planets instead of one (home planet Thalia II). Usually, I get home planet as Thalia II (PQ 10) and other planets as Thalia (15), Thalia III etc. However, in this game, somehow I have Thalia II as PQ 19! The other planets are named Thalia II II, Thalia II III and so on. The other planet is PQ 10. <img style="vertical-align: middle;" src="http://img694.

It is specifically mentioned in the manual that breaking a treaty will have a harsh diplomatic penalty. I am still confused as to whether the penalty is applied for all cases of breaking the treaty or only some of the following cases: 1. You have mutual treaties. 2. You are GIVING a treaty to them. 3. You are TAKING a treaty from them. Also, how much of a diplo penalty are we talking about? EDIT: I play TA 2.03

(Example: selecting Aquatic or Heavy Gravity world thereby pulling the research through Advanced Colonization)[/quote] I think that will work.

Well, of course there are still experts willing to help, it's just not like it was 2 years ago ;) I see now that I have been committing one big mistake - I have been using CTRL+N to get a good home planet and I have ignored approval tiles there. It might seem strange to some, but I have almost always gone for the home planet as my manufacturing capital, with 300-800% manufacturing bonuses overall on its tiles. For my economic hubs, I always choose a minor race planet (t

If you have played EUIII, I don't know else could appeal to you in the grand strategy list. That game is just so 'gullible gamer sucking thing' that I don't play it anymore, or else lose a whole week! Maybe try a variant of EUIII, like EU Rome? Or try HoI III, though I haven't played that.

Your second point is quite interesting. I also try not to colonize them if there are other higher PQ planets nearby, but when you have only 3-4 good planets, getting 2 low PQ planets doesn't seem so bad. About the first point, is it a good idea to keep your initial planet at 100% approval? It usually pulls me down to 10-15% tax rate, which over a lot of turns, can be significant. On the other hand, getting more population faster in the beginning has the least opportunit

I began my first MV game with a small map and challenging diffculty level as the Terrans (for quick promotion to Ensign ;) ). I have two questions about the beginning: 1. Is there any point to trying to keep the approval at 100% for the maximum population growth? Is there a cap? What happens when you are a Super-Breeder? I kept the approval at 100% for several turns and the pop growth was consistently +0.15B (8.00B at start). Since the pop growth didn't vary between whe

I have played GC2 several times on my friends' PC, but I only recently got a method of paying for a copy (Ultimate) of the game myself. I was thinking of starting by playing a metaverse game. I have a few questions: 1. After I log into the metaverse and start a game, do I need to stay connected to it while playing? 2. What about loading a previously saved game? I guess that it will require me to connect to the metaverse to load that game. 3. Obviously I will need to be
