And no DRM whatsoever. None at all!
I have done a fair bit of reading on the game and the consensus was the original EU III was good but nothing more. The two expansions have turned it into a great game. The 3rd expansion has just come out but I will buy the complete version which has the two expansions included. Can't wait.
I think the 3rd expansion pack will come out on Dec 15, so you will be better off waiting until then to get your hands on the really co
Well, they have everything [e digicons][/e]
Sounds like the game gods were really angry with you for some reason :p I haven't had more than 1 bad event happen to me simultaneously in the game. Although all the good races ganging up on you at the wrong time can be really bad :(
I don't mind the learning curve or the time it takes to understand if I know it will be worth it. If it is one of those games where I can run through the tactics or get my head round why x works with y when I am sitting on the toilet (come on who doesn't do that ) then it maybe the one for me.
Then I definitely suggest that you get EUIII complete - you won't be disappointed IMO. Play only the latest version. As it is a
No, that will almost certainly trip the cheat flag for metaverse games. As I plan to play mostly MV games, I don't think I will make real use of them. Thanks for your time :)
Must admit I am swaying to EU III due to it's RISK nature and there seems to be a solid community.
EUIII is a very good grand strategy game. IMO, it is more like a sim. And yes, it does have an active community. But I must warn you - it is not for everyone. It is tough, it has lots of details in which you have to delve to understand properly, it has pages upon pages of spread-sheets, it is VERY time consuming. If you
I am definitely interested, but did you design them for ToA? Do they work with the Metaverse? Thanks!
I want to see how the game performs at the MAX CPU settings once I upgrade my PC. I am definitely hoping that it will improve significantly. A good AI has been a very good reason to play GC2.
This game does have a lot of quirks, perhaps reflecting the preferences of [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e]
I will say buy TA - it is not any easier than DL, at least. I haven't played DA, so can't comment on its difficulty. Also, the new tech trees are a fundamental change - believe me when I say that you need to actually play differently when playing as different races. Not to mention that the game feels very different when playing as the Terrans and the Drengins. Yor and Thalan are even more weird, I have heard. ;) Also, diplomacy is a lot tougher as the AI won't let you buy it o
I just want the Frog who loves to play games, troll or not [e digicons]:D[/e]
If you had it on Stardock Central, you should have it on Impulse too - registered to the same email address. Also, you shouldn't need the key again if it has already been registered :) But if you have any problem, just contact support.
The bad thing about how it works currently is that the races with a good base race ahead while others are left behind. Even at Intelligent.
I agree with you that leaving a low cost tech is not helping. The cost of most (but not all!) techs increases by a factor of 2.7-3.3 after researching a certain number of techs. This happens in 2-3 steps. But after the 2.7-3.3 inflation, no further tech cost increase happens in my games in ToA 2.03. Maybe they changed the code somewhere along the line? I also concur about Planetory Invasion. It becomes very time consuming otherwise. But the strange thing is that not all the techs seem
BTW built-in warships are remainder from GC-1 and are crap.
Completely agree that they are useless! In fact, some people like to delete their custom ships after each game.
Nah. just have a signature saying: "CEO, Stardock Corporation, Plymouth, MI." [e digicons]:frogboy:[/e]
Thanks for reading and offering your comments :)
The quirks of the non-sentinents! ;)
I don't think the ARC works with the application folder. I changed the Terran Alliance RACECONFIG XML file in the "My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\Metaverse\" folder. I made only the following changes: -Changed homestar to Thalis (not Thalia II) -Changed home planet name to Thalia II. This usually gives me the home star named Thalis, home planet Thalia II and another habitable planet Thala. But somehow, in that paticular game, after some CTRL+N the game got confused and gave
Yes, I used those instructions as also the link a post in this forum the link to which was given there. I think you are mistaken - Jack probably told you that ARC didn't work with DL. It works fine with TA. The ARC worked perfectly, except I got a 19PQ home planet and 10PQ second planet instead of the usual 10 and 15PQ. I think I had the Thalian home system. I submitted the game without any problems. Also, in my new game, I modified the Drengin to have the Super Breeder super
I assume that you have the latest version, Twilight of Arnor. I am new to the game too, and the first thing I can tell you is that you should play different races as well. Since you have been heavily into influence and trading the last two games, I suggest you go with the Drengins and go for a pure military win. That will be sea change in the game that you get. Keep doing this, ie trying new races and new styles of victory, if you wish. Or modify the race as you wish, within t
It is. I am about to start my second MV game :)
Welcome! CaptainYar is right. Also, there is already a lot of information about the game available. Do check out the GalCiv2 wiki: https://www.galciv.wikia.com/wiki/Galactic_Civilizations_Wiki
It has to do with the metaverse. Go to the Metaverse and click the "create character" link there. You will need your serial number to do that. Once the character has been created, you may need to click the "default" button there to make the links visible in your posts. After that, you can earn the medals by starting up a metaverse game. Go to the Metaverse forums for more information if you need it. Also, here's a link explaining the various medals: https://forums.galciv2.com/
