I'm going to be totally honest here. I was extremely disappointed to hear that the original races/lore/storyline will not be used. I hear the party line that it is out of respect for the creators of the game since they can't be involved and I can respect that. However, to then go ahead and still use the name Star Control for the game baffles me. This game may turn out to be very good and I do wish all the best for Stardock in this endevour but it isn't Star C
Thormodr
I must concur. I have been super busy and have not been able play the game for about a year. I came back and see that the game has been released and it has already been updated a few times. I am quite impressed with the game. It's super fun and kind of addictive. :P I sure hope some additional content comes out for the game. I'd definitely buy it. :) The only negative I can think of is that when events trigger they seem to not wait their turn to fire, so to spea
So happy to hear that they've finally fixed the units moving onto other unit's tiles. Well done! Like the new hut to the left of that one city. Very nicely done. :) New starter quests to give a bit of background rather than a wall of text is an excellent idea. Like the invisible dudes. Lol. Any ETA on the Vorpal blade? :P
Thormodr - yes I had exact same things happen - pain in the arse I think we need an urgent update - I am finding more bugs in beta 5 than i noticed in beta 4 [e digicons]:)[/e]
Well, that's good to know that it wasn't only me. :P</
I like the Ranger, personally. He's definitely not the most powerful but he's fun to trot around with a bunch of archers and a couple of tanks and decimate the opposition when he gains the pre-fight free attacks. :)
Plus, I had the Spider Rider hero who has a crossbow. I haven't found another crossbow in the game. Plus, to make things worse, I equipped him with a summer shield by accident and his crossbow disappeared. I couldn't equip him with any other weapons so he became a bare handed melee character. :(
I must admit, I've found this frustrating too. I played last night and piled up a fair amount of spare swords and shields which I couldn't use. I was playing as the Guardian. It'd be nice if Drodin could use a shield, for example. Even if he didn't have his own skill tree it would differentiate him from normal grunts. :)
The game is looking better and better. Still needs more Vorpal Blade updates, however.
Solknar the Swamp King. :P
Very nice front end screen! :) The game is looking better and better visuals wise. In regards to putting equipment on animals, I'd like to see it be an option. I hate having wimpy animal companions. At worst, have it be an ability for the Guardian. (Whom I will be playing 90% of the time. [e digicons][/e] )
I'm going to watch this now. Looking forward to more info on talking vorpal blades. Don't let me down! [e digicons][/e]
Tired in 1983??? Lame. Moar Talking Vorpal Blades plz! [e digicons][/e] Anyway, I've been super busy so I haven't had time to play or check into the game. The game is looking pretty good! Getting better and better.
Please fix the legacy bugs. Even if it means pushing back the delivery date of the game.
Sounds like the Guardian got a whole lot funner. ^^ Harvest Shadow Land tile sounds great and the rock rain and 2X damage reflection tile sounds cool. [e digicons][/e]
Modifying the tiles sounds promising. Turning tiles into mud or an inferno (like the Ranger's Hellfire shot) or perhaps a briar thicket sounds good. [e digicons][/e] Load up the Guardian with some of these. ^^
I believe they are placeholders, yeah.
Sounds great. Thanks. [e digicons][/e]
@Frogboy Sounds good. ^^
Par for the course. Civilization 5 lowered the bar and Civilization 5: Beyond Dearth went underneath it. [e digicons]>:([/e] It's like the old adage. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.
Thanks for your hard work Dr. Frank. I appreciate your knowledge, ideas and obvious passion for the game. :)
To be totally honest, I don't think flanking is necessary. There are bonuses for ganging up on units and that's good enough for me. Same goes for high ground. Everyone longs for the spiritual successor to MoM and and that had pretty straightforward combat. So, I'd keep the combat similar to what it is now with some small tweaks and focus on other areas.
Resources effecting crafting is very welcome news. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Oooohhhh...I like those outposts. Very interesting! [e digicons][/e]
@Heavenfall Yeah, that sounds really good. Especially is the Druid-like Guardian could manipulate weather and/or be able to craft weather altering items. [e digicons][/e]
I like Empire building more than fighting wars. I'll keep an eye on it. :)
