2. Scouts/Survey ships sometimes teleport randomly, often far away from controlled territory. They remember their destination so after teleporting they continue to their previous destination.
There's this artifact that generates wormholes and you can use it on someone else's ship. The AI is most likely using it on yours. It once did it to a colony ship of mine before it arrived to a planet.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. It would help if we could see what's in your debug.err , it is located in \Documents\My Games\GC3 or \Documents\My Games\GC3Crusade If you could upload it to a cloud service (DropBox, Google Drive, One Drive) and post a link here, the developers can take a look at it. Thank you for your patience and patronage.

Some marketing material was sent over to Stardock after it acquired the Star Control IP. [quote who="GMOrz" reply="78"
Note: whether P&F actually said "direct sequel" or "true sequel" I don't really care. It was an unfortunate typo that P&F corrected, then they showed good faith about the trademark going forward.
It wasn't a typo, they referred to it both as direct sequel and true sequel. Plus they used the boxart for Star Control II, which was always the property of the publisher. <img src="https://cdn.sta
