I didn't get it either
Have you opted-in to the latest patch? If not, Right Click on GC III in Steam, go to Properties. Then click on BETAS and select the opt-in v1.01 Opt in patch. The patch will then download and install. Once the patch is installed, load up a save just before winning the Campaign and re-win it. You should get your achievement then. If you don't want

Too clunky and busy. The GC II I made was simpler and more streamlined. As for the GC III one, I made it very early in the beta process as a stop gap and never got around to perfecting it. As of 1.01 (opt-in) the Cheevo for finishing the campaign is now working. :) I loaded up a save just before finishing the campaign, finished it, and my Achievement appeared. So for those who want it, grab the opt-in patch and get that cheeto. Errr, excuse me. Cheevo. :D

Think I'm gonna live on the Wild Side and download it but NOT start a new game. I'm finally getting somewhere on my 74 faction I/A/A/A game and I'll be damned if I restart it again just because there is a .01 patch out. :p If it was a .X patch, then yeah. But a .0X? No. Beta's over and I'm done with that. :D

I would like to point out that the release WAS a Day One patch. Techincally at least. The game was getting patched approximately every three to four days or so as the release approached. That they didn't call it a "Day One" patch is neither here nor there. But the game that went out the door last Thursday had seen a patch as recently as that previous Sunday or Monday (I'd have to check to make sure). The game that was released a few days later had a coup

Fangorm, sure they could release the 1.01 patch early.... .... And then get howls of complaints when it turns out to crash people's games because they didn't finish QA properly. See, that's the problem: Stardock releases patch early and people complain when it crashes their system Stardock releases patch after QA and people complain that they want it now. Damned if they do; damned if they don't. The reason they release the Patch No

The fact that you look at any of these factors at all, let alone enough to argue about them vehemently, shows you are indeed a power gamer whether you claim the title or not. Very few people on these boards seem to recognize how unrepresentative we are in our collective way of the actual player community collective play levels and patterns. None of us

There's always the: "If the game is too easy, play on a higher difficulty setting", point as well. I mean, if we're into the One Liner/Fit On A Bumper Sticker stage of the argument and all. ;) ===== NOTE: The one-liners and [implied] casual insults are the main reason I had until this point sat this discussion out - I had thought this was going to be a slightly different discussion when seeing the thread title.
I was a little worried about this until I saw the the AI running around with the sensor ships I designed. Now I figure all is fair. Also, those sensor ships are super fragile and cost you 1/2 your initial credits, so its not like it is a choice without risk or opportunity cost.
This is another good point. If the AI can take advantage of this as well, then it becomes "equally broken". And one of the things that

But why is it only sensor boats are some people want to get hit with the neft stick right now? Why not complain about Infinity-move ships? After all, it is trivial to be able to get ships that can move 20 or 30 tiles and still be able to mess people up real good. Is there going to be a call to nerf that next? And what about life support? Again, it is trivial to be able to design ships that can travel all across the map. Why design starbases if one can j

It's not even "cheap gimmicks" I like, it's the early game ability of being able to see more than two friggin squares away from my ships. I wouldn't mind a "reasonable" restriction (GC II's of 12[?]) on the maximum distance. But being able to see five or seven squares away on early ships is a strategic choice. I sacrifice engine speed and life support range to add sensors. The idea that it is in fact "free" and "cheap" doesn't hold water, I
But most people don't wanna cheat themselves out of a more meaningful experience. Sensor stacks are a cheap gimmick. Might as well turn off fog of war. When it comes to moderators on Steam, isn't it dependant on what moderators are there? By that I mean, each forum has its own moderators, I thought. If the GC III team are mod-friendly, it doesn't matter what Steam in general thinks. Unless they override whatever Brad and co set up.
I think the problem here is not that patriotic is so overpowered (perhaps it is, but ...), but that the LEP is much too progressive on larger maps. It needs to be adjusted for the larger maps, especially the insane map.
Last I heard from Brad on this was that there would be researchable techs to minimize the LEP. How exactly this would work, and if this is still what they plan on doing, time will only tell. But

Has anyone here done the permanent boost to morale that the Malevolent trait provides to help offset this? I'm not quite at the point in my I/A/A/A game yet where I'm gonna be conquering fools. But when it comes, I expect it to help quite a bit. It's a relatively early trait as well (second tier, IIRC), so it's not like one can't get it early.

One has to be careful though not to "lock out" either casual players or folks who aren't taking "full" advantage of adjacencies and souped-up buildings by making buildings/ships too expensive. It's the classic problem of Power Player versus Casual Gamer (which is more of a spectrum, but I digress). Still, if folks think it is too easy to build things late game and/or think buildings and ships should be much more expensive, send your save games to Stardock so they ca
