Jafo, there was an eight pages long thread about this article in the last reincarnation of the LS.net forums. but you weren´t very active there if i remember correctly sure, all personal preference where to upload themes. i don´t upload to LiteStep.com / .net either (usually to many dickheads there).

snarph: many LiteStep themers still dislike StarDock a lot, because it spread disinformation about LiteStep for a rather long time. there was an article on LiteStep where nearly every sentence was plain wrong (would be like one would review WindowBlinds v1.0) i tried to find this article again a while ago, but it seems to be gone now (bravo). others are not so keen on the pay concept of Wincustomize. i myself have no problems with that, every site can do as it will. but i want my themes to be co

SB? well, Neoplanet and a lot of other so called browsers do. actually the only real alternatives (for Windows) are Opera and Mozilla and it´s derivates, but i doubt they´ll drop Internet Explorer as it is so much integrated in the OS.

hm, i got mixed emotions on that gun thing. but if my country would be ruled by Dick Cheney and Richard Ashcroft, having a gun doesn´t sound like such a bad idea

"if you regard CNN as a source of 'historical information' you are in serious trouble." hehe, very true i can see CNN and CNBC (FoxNews is gone, was the most amusing one). sometimes it makes me think even Soviet Russia had a more critical media.

Peff: that´s crap about being rich and working hard, actually this fits only for a smaller part of the world. for $50 i can have a full meal in a restaurant in Thailand or India about 15-20 times. would make $250-400 in the western world. quite an amount of money, isn´t it ... note: i´m not bitching about the prices, but this "working hard" thing is rather an insult to most people around the world.

when people are talking about professional looking msstyles they are usually talking about ported Duality themes for OSX. original, good looking skins are very rare, but of course they also exist: anything by Arhra and Chaninja or Ivorance are examples. didn´t you port a skin/style called Metallized or so yourself? that is a good one also. but when we speak about "professional" looking skins, in my opinion nothing comes close to Essorant´s latest creations.

"If everyone lost a hand for stealing, then I doubt that people would steal." so if the US catch Mullah Omar, they should better make him Chief Justice of the Supreme Court

btw: Saddam Hussein is by no means a radical muslim or islamist i think the US left him in power for a reason. they were far more afraid of a democracy in Iraq than of Saddam´s dictatorship. the majority of the Iraqi popuplation (60-65 %) is of the Shi´a confession (as in Iran). closer and even friendly relationships between Iran and Iraq is what both the US and their middle east allies (all dictatorships and Saudi Arabia, the closest allie, is as similar to the Taliban regime

Bryan: form your post i guess you are running WindowsXP. Step1: get the Shell-On shell manager. this allows you to select your shell after you log in. get version 2.32 http://www.shellfront.org/utils/ set Shell-On as your shell and dont forget to add explorer.exe to the shell list in the Shell-On config dialog Step 2: get the LiteStep Installer from Omar´s site http://ohussain.cjb.net/ do NOT set LiteStep as your shell during the install. after the install add LiteStep

are you talking about a background image or the icons. if it´s about the icons have a look at Y´z Toolbar. amazing little freeware program that allows you to change the toolbars of Explorer and Internet Explorer (Ford Explorer maybe in the next beta version ) http://www.h5.dion.ne.jp/~yzathome/software/yztoolbar/index_en.html check out Y´z Shadow from the same programmer as we

i wonder why it works on my machine then ... also the LSDocs come with every distribution and with every ShellFront build. a lot of people are running LiteStep on XP and every other version of Windows (up from 95), so it seems not to be that bad. of course StarDock software is easier to run for most people and you even get support (that´s why you pay money for it).

LiteStep works very well with XP. only problem is that IconPackager packages will not work, but that is the case with any shell replacement and hacking shell32.dll is a better solution than using a third party program (at least for me). some nifty LiteStep features work with XP/2K only btw. writing a help file would probably much appreciated, not only here but also in the shell scene. until then somebody could just udate the link in the LiteStep section. the LSDocs are very well written

thanks for the info, you should write a mail with the report to rootrider at shellfront and cypress at loose screws. checked the latest version (0.62) as well? i wonder why no other program has ever alerted you, if the trojan is so old, it should be well known ... the ability to use the Windows Scripting Host seems to be a huge security issue for both DesktopX and LiteStep (the LiteStep module that can do that is called lsvirus btw.). oh well, at least i know nearly all themers whose th
