Is this a new game? I think I get it. I must agree with the person before me and then say something interesting. I agree there are too many games in the off-topic forum. What is really annoying to me is when my boss says the word "methology" when he means "methodology".

I found on the Stats & Graph screen that my economic bonus is 86% Is it correct to assume without "interstellar republic" it would be 76%?
Step 1: Identify an undeniable fact of existence (i.e. the climate changes) Step 2: Link this fact with human behavior (i.e. humans cause the climate to change) Step 3: Grab all the power and money you can in order to control human behavior (i.e. Cap & Trade) The facts supporting the link in step 2 are irrelevant as long as a consensus is reached that the science is settled. Oh, and never document suppression of the data and peer reviews where hackers may find this
Thanks Mainden. I'm confused by the Stats & Graph screen. Never sure what exactly I'm looking at, but I'll see if i can find what you are referring to. At least the bi-annual notification text is erroneous.
When I research Interstellar Republic I get 20% economic bonus. When I research Star Democracy I get 20% economic bonus. When I research Star Federation I get 20% economic bonus. I have wondered about that for several games and decided to research it on the Wiki site. Lo and behold, it should be 10%, 20% and 30% respectively. Also, its not clear whether this economic bonus is accumulated or not. Does the annual notification indicate the bonus is maintain
I would give you karma, but you should realize that topic has too many replies in it. I mean seriously, one of these days its gonna explode and leave green goop all over your face.

Interesting idea about colonizing other galaxies. Should the turns be on hold for every galaxy except the current one in focus?
I'm in the habit of copying my posts to Word before I hit the dreaded "Post Reply" button.
That's good to know. I'll let you know when I get there. Maybe in a few months.
AI starbases seem to be random at best, wasteful at worse. Or maybe I don't understand their strategy. Why build an Economy starbase next to my colony? Why build an Influence starbase in my territory but fail to upgrade it? Any clarification would be appreciated.
This is a duplicate thread. The OP has responded in the other one.
LTJim, if I notice a hostile AI gaining on me in military strength, I always move to wipe them out before they can overpower me. I call it the "Ender Wiggin" Strategy. On the other hand, I try to ally with friendly AI's, then it doesn't matter how strong they get. But you are right in the higher difficulties its impossible to dominate in every category. I prefer to dominate in tech since tech will trump sheer numbers (most of the time). Btw, I had a strange event happen to me over the

I've played about 10 games so far; currently on "painful" setting and still have not been defeated. Note: I've never had a planet of mine invaded by enemy forces. I've had a surprise attack take out ships in orbit, but a transport has never reached one of my planets. This is by employing the intercept method mentioned by LTJim. The AI can be predictable and as such, manipulated into wasting hardware needlessly.

What's funny is that no matter what happens, it can be blamed on global warming. Too much salt in the oceans? Global warming. Not enough salt? Global warming. Less severe winters in North America? Global warming. More severe winters in North America? Global Warming. I'm amazed that anyone bothers to listen to these people anymore.
Thanks for the great info! +1
Good point.
I don't think it's that hard. You just assign an amount of units to everything and in turnbased a turn would be x amount of units and in realtime a minute would be x amount of units.
I love it when my users tell me, "this won't be hard to implement" and then they proceed to tell me an idea that would require an entire rewrite of the project. Likewise, sometimes they say, "I don't know if this is po
Your story was interesting and entertaining. I read the whole thing, which is saying a lot. At the end of it I was sad and confused about what it all meant. As a criticism, your writing could use some polish, but I assume English is not your first language so its pretty good from that perspective.
What would be hilarious is if it is actually released and the graphics look exactly like Duke Nukem 3D.
Since DNF has been in development since 1997, I believe it will be released on Doom's day at approximately never hundred hours. Or something like that.
Shuazoid, I have a 19 year old son. Everyone feels ostracized at your age to one degree or another. Granted, your situation is more of a challenge than most must face. But at the same time its an opportunity to grow and become a better person. I was 19 years old once and I remember it vividly. Note to self: Its important not to make any drastic life changing decisions when you feel like the world is against you. Those feelings will pass especially if you have someone to talk to that you can t
