The fact that I still check the boards and still have gripes means I still want the game to be fun , challenging and it still has potential. Whether or not that potential is realized is something I hope Kael can help with...
The people who are unhappy don't stick around, they go away. Hopefully they'll return if/when the game improves. I don't think the community has "matured" in any sense of the word, I still see people with valid complaints get hammered by fanboys. If anything those who are too disappointed have simply given up posting, for now, leaving a disproportionate amount of fanboys left. I, for one, do not consider it civil towards the

I mainly use Champions and imbue them and level them up in a single stack with summoned creatures then when I have enough, fork them off into two stacks then 3. I never have too much of a shortage of gold but then I'm not buying much anymore either.

I do not work to work but I still want to eat and have an internet connection go skiing and entertain myself and family... somethings are just mutually exclusive. Add more AI's so you can take one over and have its gold mines. Problem solved - Q.E.D.

I thought is was a nice interview and I look forward to Brad's work on the mutlithreaded AI. The fundamental problem will be the balance of equipment stats and spell and the new combat engine. I hope the new AI work will occur AFTER teh balance work and not BEFORE or concurrent with as it will likely make the AI lousy all over again if the Game parameters change after the AI changes. (note: in 1.09e the AI is still quite lousy when it is threatened.)

I have gotten by with as few as one gold mine on a large map but it does force me to rely on summoned army stacks. I have taken out an AI Sov Empire and got his 4-6 Gold Mines and that usually did the trick for me. Ofc , this was on Ridiculous setting and yes it was ridiculous but hey I knew upfront what I was likely to be in for. What was more ridiculous was the enemy Sov not even trying to fight me once I bega

As long as he/she is a finisher then you and he/she will make an innovative and amazing team. Brad, you are a great "Starter" and have awesome vision for what could be. But you probably are already aware that your weakness is finishing that which you start. One must possess the fincancial resources to even begin in this industry and even if I had yours, I would not want to produce games. But like any food critic, although I am not a chef, I certainly can and do ap
I'll put it this way: This game does not impress me. But it inspires me. I see *SO MUCH* potential in this game. The AI is terrible. The customization available is like listening to only the first verse of a Rachmaninoff vesper ... SO MUCH to go, but you can already see how awesome it could be. I could wax on, but the long story short - I'm playing it and having a great time even as crappy as its current incarnation is. I
There is an upgrade you need first; however the keyboard short cut for it (X) worked even without the upgrade prior to the last update. I have not checked yet to see if it still works.
X still works w/o Fortification and imho it should always do so.

Actually The Tech Fortification is supposed to be required but I can raze towns w/o it. So this issue to me is not so much a game mechincs bug as a documentation bug. The thing that seems beyond moronic to me is why at launch the weapons all got better when one researched weapons but after I think it was the 1.07 patch that after the MACE on the Kingdom side that the warhammer was a worse weapon, yup currently that tech tree regresses, and every patch I have an expectation that

12 Replies 4,662 Views

Brad, Any chance you can fix the Kingdom side Mace and Warhammer, I really do not think it would be difficult for the folks who created it to swap the weapons around and make the regression a progression again... I mean who's idea was it to make it go backwards? or did they just not look at the context of the change in light of all the weapons in the both faction trees? I have to imagine this is easier than the AI to fix. So I'm stumped as to why it isn't.&nb
I am thinking that Razing a city shouldn't require a technology.
Is that because there is a bug you don't want to fix that allows one to raze towns now? (because there is) or because it makes no sense to have to research how to burn things down after a battle? I'd like for there to be a researchable Conversion option, say that allows me to convert a capture empire t

The Queued structures show up in the queue as small circular icons, to the upper right of them is a faint X. Click the X to remove them from teh Queue. Without a manual it is frustrating and there is a learning curve... Wait until you progress the equipment tree until your next weapons cost less and do less damage... Say What ?! yup you'll put points into research to research a worse weapon.... Intelligent isn't it?

12 Replies 20,924 Views

Two things that I'd like to see most in the next patch (1.09e now) so I guess that is 1.10. 1) An AI that actually attempts to preserve/protect itself. 2) on the Kingdom side, please scrub the Equipment Technology tree stats to ensure that as a player progresses so to does the armor and weapons. It's been messed up intentionally since about 1.07. If you do plan to make it idiotic, please explain the idiocy of the logic of doing so. I truely want to

#6 is especially annoying. The pathfinding in the game actually works but is not optimized for selecting the path with the least movement point cost. That should be fixed. Pathfinding is an easy academic problem to solve, the most optimized path is a professional problem to solve. But it is solvable. #13's - Padded cuirass on the kingdom side is 3 the leather shirt is 2 defense. the Leather Cuirass is 4 and the leather armlets helm and grieves a

That way you have control of the married couples (and can keep them safe), you still get half the children, and your females can lead your armies. hey I always play a female SOV (thats me..
