The I-League are using the same symbol as the Torians? Odd.

Given that you're still losing money, I question whether dialing back production was a smart idea, particularly when it slows down the research of an economy tech. Looks like the Arceans are once again the last race to show themselves. Edit: Never mind, didn't see the last post.
I guess the crew all died of the disease. Never seen this bug myself, but the one time I had the event, logistics was not one of the stats hit.
So with the sector limit on starbases, even one starbase built by another faction, ally or neutral, costs me money!
I'm fairly certain this is incorrect. The limit is a flat limit, not an extra fee, and it only applies to your starbases in the first place.
I still don't understand why allies building starbases in your space is supposed to be a bad thing. Yes, it's fairly useless for them , but it does you absolutely no harm.
You can never have more then 10 major and 8 minor races in any given game, but as far as I know, there isn't really a limit on how many you can have as options.
It is worth noting that which races tend to do better or worse seems to depend at least somewhat on which races you play as. In almost a dozen games as the Terrans, both with and without tech tree fixes, I've never encountered strong Drath, yet in my very first game as the TA Drengin they crushed me overwhelmingly.
I would have fought it out a little longer, but I can understand why you'd want to try the new version of the mod. Should be interesting to see how things go this time around...
Well actually, the last game I played, the Drengin did become really powerful, but I beat them with science. And Terror Stars. Since that game I fixed the ridiculously early access to the psyonic beam in the Drengin tech tree and balanced the weapons a bit more evenly. However, the Drengin are always going to be in a good military position during the early game. With default War party political party and natural abilities, as well as the Terran
You know, not that this isn't an interesting AAR, but if I was considering trying your mod, this would not push me towards doing it. Why are the Drengin so insanely overpowered? Every game you've reported on so far, they've steamrollered the galaxy. You mentioned earlier that the Arcean tech tree is not finished - is that true for most of the races, or what?
As a bit of an update, I can now say that I'm definitely going to (at some point) make a full-fledged AAR of that Torian game I mentioned even if it kills me - which at 15 years and counting, it just might. So far, we've had: Allies becoming enemies and vice-versa Invading Dread Lords - that actually posed a threat! Minor races saving the day Terror Stars A duel between two Precursor Rangers (and their escort sh
This thread isn't getting as many responses as I would hope. All I have right now are Terran designs, but wait a few days and I should have something up.
Personally, I think Fleet Warp Bubbles can be used to make a passable "carrier" all on their own as it is, anyway.
Wow, that's a lot of Drengin. From the looks of the military chart at the bottom, you've actually got the third-largest military. Any hope of bringing in the Yor? The Arceans look to have gotten pasted. Sigh.
Quoting qrtxian, reply 6How does this actually hurt you, though? It's more of an annoyance really, but their starbases prevent me sometimes from using the optimal placement for my own starbases. The other things is, why does my ally build military starbases around my planets? They can't help me, because they have no effect on my ships. And my ally won't send any of his own to protect my planets. It's such a waste of time
The woes of artificial stupidity. Your ally thinks, he's doing you a favor, but doesn't realize, that those starbases have only an effect on himself. There is a UP proposal in the sandbox game, however, that allows starbases to help allies.
How does this actually hurt you, though?
Just how many people are the Drengin at war with, now?
Do the Drengin have invasion technology yet? If so, the Altarians and Torians (and by extension everyone else) could be in a lot of trouble.
Unfortunately, it matches my own experience - since the Peacekeepers will always show up with technology that's ahead of the game leader, if you get them late enough in the game they get tech that makes the Dread Lords look like cavemen. I was already going for a tech victory the time I saw this happen, so it didn't hurt much, but there would have be no way to ever fight the PKs.
Control your survey ship manually, that way your not getting sucked in wormholes and sent across the map into obscurity.
Personally, I view wormholes as helpful - it's a good way to get to see parts of the map you might not reach on your own for a while, and to meet the races from around there (assuming you don't start out in contact with everyone).
I'm aware of the extreme hypocrisy it takes to ask this question, but is this going to be continued?
Do I need to start a new game to use my own designs?
In order to use designs you made in the out-of-game ship designer, you need to start a new game, yes.
Do i need to add the modules as I design the ships or can I add the modules during the game as they become available?
Putting the modules on the design means that you'll need to wait until you have researched all of the needed techs before you can actually build the ship. Otherwise,

Huh, interesting - the highest-level ship I can find on one of my TA games is a level 41 Torian frigate, and it hasn't even hit a hundred HP yet.
