Impulse client is pretty crappy, actually. It's "better" just in the sense that's optional and you don't have to run it to play a game, after the first installation... but when it comes to community features, integration, usefullness etc, Steam client is lightyears better. Anyway I was wondering if there's any plan from Gamestop to push the Impulse reactor DRM or if they are going to drop it.
Better

They are entitled to either opinion, but I'm guessing those folks might feel a little betrayed for supporting impulse only to see it sold off. And they have lost my account since I stopped playing the one ga
I have been looking up what other Indie Developers with games on Impulse think of the purchase. I will just put links here as I get to them (there are about 778,000 hits on Google to go through). Links sent via PM from companies you know about would be appreciated. http://www.soldak.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3634 http://forums.bli
I have a pre-order copy of elemental. Vaguely (well more than vaguely) I believe we were told that we would get two free add-ons with the first one being fallen enchantress. Is this still the plan and if so what will be the second free add-on ? Just curious - I'll probably give the game another shot when Fallen Enchantress comes out; was a little disappointed by the orignal as I had hoped it would be closer to age of wonder series. If anything they are probably upset by games like Mass Effect whose form of DRM will hurt second hard console sales. Also if you are trying to get this thread locked by your excessive outburst, you will probably succeed.
However given the effects of DRM, it would seem their (real) purpose is to kill the second hand market. We fully intend to support all Impulse customers to the greatest extents possible; up to and including an in-game updater solution so that you don't lose the convenience of automatic updates for our title. It won't be as slick as Impulse of course. No running in the background and silently updating stuff. But it will at least pr

Also, the reliance on foreign energy and renewed demonization of nuclear power as a potentially viable alternative energy source for wide-scale use. Anyway, I certainly hope Impulse doesn't become the sort of service that requires logging into Gamespot servers each and every time
At the rate they're locking threads today, I kind of wonder if anything with a pony in it will be locked next.
Since it is not exactly that extreme, likely not. It mostly just serves to show just how much of the Impulse user base GameStop will have to win over if they want the continued business from those people. And it would be kind of hard to lock ALL the threads.
Why would anyone find a pony image distasteful?
Some people seem to think it is too 'girly' or some such. Generally it is not that they do not like ponies, but that they are unwilling to admit they like them. It also helps that it is not common on this site, so it will stand out.
I think all that are unhappy with this should change their avatar to a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic character to show that they find the change over more distasteful than having a pony image. Because if you are going to make a statement, you got to show you really mean it.
The most effective way to stop it is for the 'meh' generation to threaten to vote inorder to protect their youtube access.

If becoming a retailer was not the intent, then why allow other developers to sell through it? If becoming a retailer was not the intent, then the only other logical reason would be so Impulse could be sold off.
