A thought after some unrelated testing with Uberfix 1.3 and Skirmish AI v26l enabled. Is there a way to 'teach' the AI focus on ONE enemy? Let's say in 2v2 skirmish, human players will almost exclusively target one of the 2 opponents (switching targets only for interrupts). The AI is just happy to bash at whoever is closer to its current position, or, which is totally ridiculous, will ignore wounded opponents with 200 hp 10 yards from him, because there is a flag in closer

Well, I've actually played (and lost!) a nice 3v3 v zubicvila today :) Happy to see he continues to play and clearly gets better. What do you say, zub, our community is not so horrible after all, huh? [e digicons]O:)[/e]
Totally off-topic, but both Sedna and mod related, so bear with me :) Is there any chance to modify the UI ally health/mana mod in such a way skills would be useable on allies by clicking on their portrait? It's really frustrating when you heal the wrong ally (or yourself) in close-quarters melee. This game should not be about super-precise mouse clicking, after all. Every DG having support skills that need targeting could benefit greatly from such a modific
Another thought: I think the modders, with all due respect, do not firmly understand how should Sedna's skills (Silence and Pounce) work in MP. It's not meant as a critique (kind of goes without saying it is not :)), rather as something that seriously hurts the progress in that direction. My proposal is: maybe it will be beneficial to post a few replays of really good Sednas in various MP settings (2v2, 3v3) for Peppe? I have one or two replays (from 1.3 era

I think i am lost in this. So i am just gonna end it here. Nah, the Scandinavian brothers bit was fascinating, not to mention the rest is just a whole bunch of valuable information. Thank you, Orcun! :)
Nice game. Reg almost had you a few times. Yep. Through quite intelligent use of Snipe. 4) fakes teleport is more likely A.D.D than anything else. Probably higher priority target came by and interrupted the action. I guessed that much :) But since that's what most people tend to do in MP when they leave tower unguarded, it was funny to observe :) Thanks for the report and the replay. My pleasure.
skirmish (mod version) .26j/uberfix 1.03 (last version published by miriyaka) Settings: cata/High Towers - all other settings on default AI settings: nightmare 2v2 UB(h)/sed v da/reg The purpose was to test the three DGs whose skills use was altered significantly in the last version. The findings are: (1) Sedna's Silence use is still very bad. She should never use it at the very start of the 1v1 combat while both are

sedna walked in at start and used silence - then I killed her. She needs to learn when to cast silence. For possible implementation in Sedna AI, a short list of Silence-worthy instances as I see them, to whomever it may concern: (1) At the very beginning of big badass skirmishes/ganks: it is worth it, since the opposing party cannot use their alpha nukes (while yours can) for 3-5s. Moreover, it lowers enemy morale. Most people (experienc
During one more test (sporting a quite... umm, weird conception by Darkliath) we were playing at standard Pacov settings on Cataract. The teams were: Oc (human)/TB (human)/TB (AI) v Oak/Oak/Oak (all AI). Now, the AI was performing quite well, but I've noticed there is a very strange dynamic to its flag re-capture behaviour. The AI doesn't seem to react at all to neutralized (yellow) flags. For example, its Celerity flag was yellow for half a game. I've tested
I take offense to this. You consider yourself a mid player? All right, then. Special Blackmage Edition: "Mid players, OMG_blackmage excluded, of course, are much more inertia-driven, so I don't expect to see anyone, save OMG_blackmage, evidently, upgrading towers in mid games anytime soon."
Now........this might be a stretch for you guys but I have honestly had the most fun in this game playing Rich(I think his name is) aka OMG_userbanned. With all due respect, brash, that guy has begun to harass me verbally really hard by pm'ing all kind of nonsensical remarks recently. I did not provoke him in any way. I was accused of being: (a) "a pussy" (the only time I played vs. him, he played on a really really "stacked" team including
Well, it was one of the first things rawrrr and hedgie taught me: don't die and never upgrade towers, son! As far as I know, there's no real strategy developed for tower upgrades ATM, but the upgrade will probably find its niche in higher level games: if it's working as intended, there is no reason to neglect it. Mid players are much more inertia-driven, so I don't expect to see anyone upgrading towers in mid games anytime soon.
I've encountered Robert in doggu's lobby and was initially quite hostile to him (given his overall reputation and, especially, his racist remarks). However, since we were desperate to get the game going (not sure why, but doggu is always desperate to get the game going like there's no tomorrow ;)), I decided to stay and listen. No "fags", no "niggers". The guy was pretty friendly and funny, in fact. His undeniable sense of humour was now pointed in the right direction... S
That falls more in line with 3v3 games though... hopefully most 2v2 games aren't about getting artifacts over troop upgrades. Don't think I've encountered any in my 3k + games. The funny thing is, I did not spend a lot on gear (why would I as Sedna?), and Renz insisted on getting giants himself (I assume because of extra gold from kills and poor giants that died like flies to Ooze, and probably also because we were clearly winning at that point
Thank you all for the advice! Very useful info. Also, regarding the Blacksmith and Armory upgrades, a general rule to stand by is to get no more than N-1 upgrades for each, where N is the number of players you have on a team. Hedgie' s post would not be complete without a formula :) Very helpful, I'll remember this one.
Crank up the speakers to hear people joining Yes, that's a very valuable piece of advice, especially if there is a T1 player in the lobby. What happens is that most people join, see him on one of the teams, then either try to join the same side, or exit the game. Sometimes I was trying to get the game with either Renz or Kira on one of the teams for 20 min+. So it can be a long and frustrating venture, especially during EU daytime (most of T1s that could have balanc
Thanks for the tips, guys. Uh... I did invest a lot into upgrading creeps late game [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e] the pursuit of artifacts over creep upgrades In our last 2v2 with Renz we got giants a minute/minute and a half later than the opponent and I think the effect was quite devastating, even though by that point I was +1 level to enemy Sedna, and Renz was like +2-3 levels to enemy UB. Maybe I should have gone Nature's Reck
Played a game vs 26e with newest Uberfix enabled, standard Pacov settings. Cataract TB (Human)/Sedna/QoT vs TB (AI)/Sedna/QoT I lost that one :) Of course, the point wasn't to win, and I was just goofing around, but it clearly shows the AI is capable of doing certain things alone. Cit upgrades mostly all right and timely, though Cur2 wasn't bought at all. My AI was trying to keep up with 3 opponent AIs upgrading their cit like crazy, and quite
Well, recently I lost a whole series of 2v2s when paired with strong to super-strong players (TSK-knockout/johnkout, doggu, Kira, renz, and, when I think about it, that somewhat ridiculous 2v2 rawrrr+me v pacov+foxtrot also counts). I was playing either Sed or UB (not that it matters much). Now, I think that in all cases what I did was performing fine during early/mid game, and totally losing it late game, DESPITE the advantage our team accumulated up to tha
Any issues with the acronyms? Queen of Thorns is commonly abbreviated by the community as QoT (though, granted, it's hard to take Que for any other DG). Ere should probably be Erb, but it's of little importance.
While I acknowledge the validity of some points presented by you (such as noob-only games being actually counter-productive for getting better), you are cardinally wrong in your evaluation of overall difficulty/complexity of Demigod MP. LoL, HoN and original DotA are all very primitive in comparison to this game. It may look deceptively simple, true, but the learning curve is quite steep, and the difference between SP and MP here is radic
