noticed 1 point where an ai just stood defending at the gold flag (this was good as I was attacking that flag). the ai didn't put up any towers or really do anything... just stood there. Ai had full hp and mana. Oh, I've mentioned this exact issue in one of my posts in this thread. Yes, I've seen Rook standing absolutely idle in the middle of nowhere, not even AAing, though there were targets nearby, several times (that also sometimes happens to&nb

I cannot really challenge any of your conclusions. Hard to deny the obvious: Silence-Heal surely has its great advantages over any other Sedna build. It's an intelligent and flexible Sedna expert build. My main ussue with it is that, indeed, you have to be an expert to pull it off, as it's naturally quite demanding personal skill-wise. A somewhat 'dumber' build, but both safer/less mana-intensive early game and a decent damage-dealer, can end up being more r

I was able to get a game i against combokill, hes a ok guy, but I wish I could play demigod more I think he's THE_HULK now, or something like that.

After 300 games played with Sedna, involving players as varied as both newbies and T1s, I have finally decided to formulate my opinion on a subject. Silence-Heal (or Blood-Silence, using Hedgie's terminology: http://forums.demigodthegame.com/388569 ) is extremely efficient in certain 3v3 matchups, especially when teamed up with 2 heavy-hitting assassins/quasi-assassins (Occ, some Oak builds)

I think we should also incorporate some interesting chat options for the AI, to make the experience more MP-like. For example, if you die, teammates will comment on this: "Noob! Idiot! Stop feeding them!", or: "OMG! We have a noob on our team!". If they die, they should blame the human player: "Where the hell were you?!", or: "Thank you very much for watching the mini-map!". We can have two AI sub-types: the wiseass sarcastic one, and the rude hysterical one... I can provide the text. In

More feedback always helps. Almost all skills out of the box are fire whenever they are ready. Some skills this works well, but for most a little logic can go a long way. In particular, I think we should have clearer triggers (like those I've outlined for Sedna's Silence and Pounce) for TB's Frost Nova and Deep Freeze, as well as for Erebus' Mist and Bat Swarm and Occ's Blast Off!. Firing all those at will is inhuman, in a bad sense.

Quick thought: we have certain DGs that are now much more human-like than before (Regulus, Sedna, Rook), since several community members tested their behavior specifically. What about the rest? Maybe at this pre-release stage the best course of action would be for the pro players willing to test the mod to review the DGs they play for behavior oddities and inconsistencies? For example, I know for a fact Erebus should not go into Mist like the AI Erebus does, but I am in no position to re

Ya I usually don't berate ppl unless I've seen them perform better. It reminds me of one curious chat I've had in one of the lobbies. A guy with, like, 30 games and 30% joins doggu's lobby (I think) and tells everyone: "I'm a noob, can I just play without be rated?". Now, it's ungrammatical, sure enough, but the guy had an obviously German nick, so... I began to rant at length about how the rating system in Demigod multiplayer works. Ah, silly me :)

Idk what everyone else thinks but I'm trying to find a character that I would possibly use silence against 1v1 when I was higher health, maybe TB, delay the fireball, nova, ring for a sec. It is frequently justified in 1v1 vs mage type (low hp, mana-intensive) skill-spamming characters: Occ, TB (especially Ice TB), QoT.

It's a shit thing to do to anyone, and to be on the receiving end of for that matter. Not going to make any excuses cos there really are none. Sorry. Doggu is a really decent fellow, and I like playing with/vs him. His temper is bad sometimes, that much is true, but I've seen him apologizing to ppl he offended in game, and also atoning for his sins (hehe) by taking a noob on his team and coaching him patiently. So I wouldn't put him in the same category as

What's wrong with Footman's Sabaton? Always my first purchase, tbh. I've sadly been that guy (where you know I'm yelling at my team) Well, you still get angry a bit, even during totally unimportant games :-P Yes, yes, more like 'funny angry' than 'real angry', but you do. And I realize perfectly well that's after your inner filter kicks in. Like, you think: "IN1, you ******* ******* ****** son-of-a-noob,

Well, the same ground was covered in much greater detail, intellectual depth and - how to put it without sounding ridiculous? - much more realistically, in many of SF New Wave classics (Roger Zelazny's and Philip K. Dick's novels immediately come to mind). However, given the intrinsic genre limitations (it's a high-budget Hollywood motion picture, goddamit, and, as such, it must be entertaining, first and foremost)

Well, I'm not that new here anymore, and since I've been quite active both on the forums and in-game, I assume the majority of active OMG members already know me. Anyway, FYI, I've recently converted into OMG faith. Pacov was my godfather, for a lack of better term. Oh, my old contact list in game is gone, since I've merged accounts. I'll add you all ASAP. Hope that OMG before the nick will eliminate the need to convince people it's not a first

Conducted a Nightmare AI test on Cata with standard settings + High towers (v26p + Uberfix 1.03, of course). UB (h)/Sed v UB/Sed (UB, since Darkliath recently mentioned AI-controlled UB is 'weak', probably because of spending on cit upgrades, which won't happen in any non-noob MP game) It was actually a fun game. The opposing team acted more human-like than ever. Silence okay (maybe even good!), Pounce hard to judge, as both Sednas went Pounce-Hea

Any silence could seem like a good time when there's 3 other Sedna's waiting with silence, how can you really tell if they're playing right when it's unlike anything you'd ever see in a real game. Hmm... Your point does make sense. So much is going on, that even a replay evaluation from observer POV can be somewhat problematic. Okay, I'm convinced: I'll do a balanced test. One AI Sedna on each side, and that's it.

AI is only forced to shop for currency and the troop upgrades. FS1 has a high priority after war score 100 and is cheap, so is often purchased by the first AI to shop for a second time. The score requirement basically removes it from the initial shop, so the AI does not spend their initial gold on that upgrade. Okay, thanks for a clarification. So Shane was right regarding this point. However, 'weird settings' have nothing to do with the

398 Replies 1,111,779 Views

Hahaha what is the point of this test? Pretty sure nightmare AI starts with like 30k gold, if I start with that much I'm skipping FS1 too. And why 5 Sedna vs 3? You should expect some weird things to happen when you start up a weird game. Shane, will all due respect, if you were following this thread, you'd have known the purpose is to test Pounce and Silence use, as well as new fire focusing routine. It's not something th

Another quick test with legions of Sednas. This time, I set War Rank = 5, Starting Gold = Rich, to make the match end a bit faster. Otherwise, Cata, High towers, Sed (h)/Sed/Sed/Sed/Sed v Sed/Sed/Sed, all AI Nightmare. Some weird things happened: (1) The AI didn't buy FS1. Like, totally. They bought Cur1 and left the citadel for artifact shopping. (2) EXTREMELY artifact-happy. I don't think it should happen. Please change the artifact buying priorit
