I'm about to upgrade Win 10 Pro to 11 and so am thinking about my desktop and Fences. I have the latest version 3 (3.1.6.1) and am eligible for upgrade pricing. Starting with the early versions of Fences, I used to hide some desktop icons. During startup desktop icons show initially in original locations before moving to fences in Fences Stardock Forums

Since a clean reinstall of Win 8.1 x64 Pro and Fences 2.13, during startup many of the desktop icons show initially in the locations they originally installed to, before switching to their proper locations with Fences (ir or out of a fence). Since this never happened before in all the years I've been using Fences (since 1 Pro), I'm wondering: Is there some setting I missed? Thanks,

I've started a new thread, but might as well add here that yesterday I uninstalled Pro, keeping settings, and installed 2.10. The result is "Exclude" doesn't show in the Context Menu except for documents (pdf, xls, etc.) and the Trash icon. No application icons, even if replaced.

"Login" doesn't log into forums and in Forum Issues Stardock Forums

I don't come around often, but after a few failures noticed that the "Login" on the upper right of the forum page (and this one) doesn't log into the forums, only the Stardock site. One has to use the login on the left, at the top of the forum. Logging in with the one on the right goes to the user's Profile page, but going back to Forums from there still shows the user as a guest. Right now, in fact, although I'm showing as logged in on this page on the upper

Four occurrences over how long a period and how times Fences 1 ran? I've seen it too, probably at least five to ten times, but it's a very occasional annoyance.

Thanks for that information (why I visited the site tonight). Without 'exclude,' not sure what the point of Fences is. I have found that version 1 continues to work as well as ever, quirks and all, even with Win 8. It just takes an extra right click on the desktop after starting up to show the desktop icons (using Win 7 style desktop).

Well, considering that Start8 officially came out right around the same time that Fences 2 was announced, at least by email to subscribers, this makes your Stardock's failure to fix Fences 2 (yet!) all the more objectionable. I know that I'm far from alone in finding the ability to hide/not hide icons central to use of Fences. To me, Fences 2 is not attractive without that central feature - and I feel ripped off having paid for a fundamentally unfinished program. A
