What's so awkward about going to the research screen and clicking archive?
Oh, I just figured out what happened on the post above (and yes, it is a bug). It turns out the name of my save game was a single "space", as I will demonstrate here: :) . But anyways, the game did not create the save folder for the save game, and the file name for main save file is ".sav". It seems the game ripped out the space character and tried to create a folder which did not have a name. That's _really_ it for now!
A strange thing happened to me, but I don't know what caused it. When I tried to reload a game I had saved (on version 1.05) the interface was entirely empty! The basic outline was there, but there was no information filled in. The main star view was all red, the foriegn relations screen had a blank area where the races went, and the titles for the races were "test text". It looks like I'll have to start a new game. (:( Another thing I noticed was that the spelling errors were not fixe
Thanks, that did it. Stardock should try to segregate its sites better. I checked Drengin.net (the logical place to be able to do this) and I couldn't find the option.
Hmm, for me the ships just go around.
I think Parable's suggestion is a good one. It would make the diplomacy just a little bit more realistic.
I do pretty much everything above, but if I'm playing on a map with rare planets, I usually grab up class 13 and 14 planets right away and terraform them up to class 15.
By the way, the AI was advertised to be humanlike, not good. ;)
Well, that was quick!
I have a 138 IQ and I find the game brilliant because of its elegant simplicity. I don't understand why you want to add "fluff" to a game whose design philosophy is "easy to learn, hard to master". Did you ever play a game like chess, go, or even checkers? Are those games realistic? What makes them appeal to so many people? Some questions to think about.
I usually play with ungodly diplomacy bonuses and leave all but my best systems undefended. If someone declares war on me they will almost always agree to a peace treaty with no further bribery needed! This has worked very well for me playing at normal difficulty, but after I finish my current game I'm going to crank the intelligence up and see how I do then.
When I was setting up my account I forgot to choose the nickname I wanted to use for the forums. I've been trying to find out how to edit my account but I don't see the option anywhere on the web page. Can someone point me in the right direction?
How about maxed-out diplomacy? It seemes overpowered to me.
Ouch! The interstellar equivelent of nuclear warfare!
Check the encyclopedia.
I colonize 13 and up (before improvements of course". The AI never colonizes below 15, so I can nab planets within striking distance from theirs. ;)
It's easy to "borrow" images from any site whether or not they use special tags, disallow right clicks, etc.
Maybe the devs can improve this area of the AI in an update.
I think the previous owner made an archive copy off of SDCentral and is now happy that he or she got a great game for 10$-20$.
That's funny, I play neutral on nearly all my games. If an event gives me a real juicy bonus for the evil option I will take it, but I balance those choices with good and neutral ones if they don't affect me much.
I read somewhere that the ships are (pre?)rendered in 3d but the devs made a bad choice in making the viewpoint 100% top-down which killed the effect.
I try to use ctrl+N until I have a fair position, not too hard or too easy.
I think the metaverse still needs a lot of tweaking.
Does using mods in the Library affect your Metaverse score?
