[quote who="Whiskey144" reply="4" id="2948275"]Not really. The HW1/2 mothership's best defense was to not get into combat in the first place; in HW2 a mothership might have had the gunnery to defend itself against, say, a minor bomber strike, but against most forces a mothership would require external support. A mothership's main advantages lay in the fact that your unit production facilities were not tied down anywhere, but was a mobile installation in itself. In HW:Catacl

By fleet replacement, I mean Ogrovs as you pointed out (personally, in such a scenario where mines were preventing a fleet from moving without taking considerable loses; I would have held position, waited for Arcovas instead of wasting Ogrovs to get through the mines, so as to not have to replace so many), and you also built a lot of Kodiaks too, both to maintain a critical mass. I agree with what Darvin and Seleuceia have been saying, that it takes an early game advantage carried int

I am not surprised you won with that many Level 10 Capital Ships at your disposal. Seleuceia's arguments still stand, and are even supported by your recording. You couldn't protect the Level 10 Marza, you repeatedly replaced your fleet when things got dicey, and you had a decent economy.

I only know about the ILM work on Star Trek, because I took the time to look it up on Wikipedia. I know about the First Contact easter egg because of Memory Alpha. I haven't seen the Battle of Sector 001 in so long that I haven't seen the YT-1300 easter egg for my self.

Due to the vast technological disparity between the Empire and the Federation, in my opinion, the Federation's only hope for survival is to ally with the Alliance and the New Republic, depending on when the crossover occurs. Otherwise, the Federation will probably crumble in such a dire scenario like the New Republic did during the Yuuzhan Vong War. The tremendous differences in weapons yield between Wars and Trek tech just aren't meant to coexist. ILM did the visual effects f

Both the Empire and the Federation have multiple shipyards. As Whiskey stated, the Empire has Kuat Drive Yards and its subsidiaries on such planets as Kuat and Rothana to N'zoth and Gydine (manufacturers of numerous ships and vehicles), but the Empire also have such shipyards as Sienar Fleet Systems and its affiliates on planets from Corulag to Lianna (manufacturers of numerous specialized ships and starfighters), and other shipyards such as Rendili StarDrive and Hoersch-Kessel Dr

Homeworld is definitely something else, nothing has really lived up to its legacy. I still haven't beat the campaign after eight years, yet I still keep it installed. The gameplay changes that I have managed to experience in the Homeworld 2 demo scare me, though I did manage to compensate for them, not that I could get the full-game nowadays.

I agree with the sentiment on the anti-structure cruiser situation, the Ogrov Torpedo Cruiser is extremely powerful while the Solanus Adjudicator is pathetic in comparison. I believe Hanger Defenses are indeed underpowered, they cost so many Tactical slots, for very few fighters and/or bombers.

Actually, since Czaran said there were Terrans not Deserts, I am pretty sure that was Quickstrike, but your point stands that one should be able to out fight a Hard AI without much trouble. I suspect Czaran was surprised by the enemy at the Ice in between both of the Asteroids.

The TEC capital ship Ultimate abilities are great, being the most consistently well rounded line-up of Ultimates, but aren't generally as good as the Ultimates like the Advent's Detonate Antimatter, Anima Tempest, and Resurrection, and the Vasari's Replicate Forces, Drain Planet, and Stabilize Phase Space. Armistice is the TEC's only real answer, more like a band-aid, to the Advent and Vasari's late game dominance, because the Ultimates like Rapid Manufacturing and Finest

We definitely don't want another EaW, the land combat system it has is abysmal, almost an afterthought, the number of units that can be deployed on the ground is so small in comparison to space, definitely not a pretty sight. If it wasn't for mods, EaW would have died a painful death, then there is FoC and the ridiculous Zann Consortium. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the Consortium, but they were so poorly implemented as little more than Petroglyph's dream team, we de

I am not taking a microscope to Michael Moore, all I am saying is he is a liar and to not believe anything he says without taking it with a grain of salt.

Concerning MindsEye's argument, ever heard of a Base Delta Zero? Base Delta Zero is the naval code in the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire among others for an orbital bombardment to glass the surface of a planet, one ISD is capable of conducting such an operation, it just takes a little longer to complete with just one ship.

Of course there is a cost to war, you think I don't know that? When narrow-minded people like Michael Moore use a microscope and a projector to present an argument, I won't give the argument much merit because it isn't a camera that is taking a look at the big picture, sorry.

Actually, you, BoobzTwo, are missing half of my statement, "flatly refuses to show any footage of Iraqi military causalities when they far out weigh the civilian ones, and disrespects the United States military, that fights everyday to keep the United States of America safe, by showing a military funeral and a military amputee without the consent of the family and soldier, respectively."
