Jack, why can't you take screenshots on ME? -Cari

Daggerfall came out in like 1996 I think...
http://www.avault.com/news/displaynews.asp?story=4232002-14141 If any of you remember, its predecessor Daggerfall was best RPG of its year, despite all the bugs. Their later products have been less buggy, so if they took the time to make Morrowind solid, it'll be a great game!
JEDI DRINKING SONG - Dusty Rhinos I had one pint of beer, and one shot of scotch, I had one bottle of wine, and bourbon on the rocks I had one lassie on me right, another on the left, I looked that puppet in the eye and said give me the test A long time ago, in a pub far away, I sat on a barstool, just drinking away, I couldn't hold it down, I guess I had too much I felt a tremor in the force and then I lost my lunch I woke up in a desert land, feeling hot and sick, I
Yeah, the planet and ship lists aren't final, but we've had our artists working on other goodies first. --Cari
Fredrik, do you happen to know if that Colony ship had been about to colonize a planet when an alien ship got there first?
We have a lot of names from mythology and literature. It's always fun to see the planet Hercules. :) --Cari
the one in the data directory is the one actually being used
Well, it's possible, but hard to tell...try clearing out a space with a scout or survey ship and then use autopilot for your colony ship and see if you get better results...
Umm...I don't know if we'll be releasing any other builds before the beta...
But none of this resolves why Fredrik and Cain are having ships get stuck...
Actually...now that I've thought about it and stepped through the process, I'm not sure that mine isn't behaving correctly...If it's July and I set my ship on auto-pilot, he moves. That's his move for this turn. So now I click the turn button (not currently having any other ships to mess with) and he stays put, retaining his moves and it's now August. I hit the button again and he moves using his August moves and now it's September and he has new moves again. It's confusing because the ships
I just now tried to reproduce this and this was what I found. I moved a ship first, then turned off auto turn because I'd forgotten, then moved my other ship. They completed their first turn correctly, then I hit the turn button and they did not move. When I hit it the second time, they moved again. This also happened with just one ship after I had my colony ship colonize a planet. So I don't know why mine would only skip moving one turn, when yours would be stuck there indefinitely, unless
Fredrik: isn't it saving the good/evil sliders now? I know that I'd included a clean copy of the prefs.ini file with the last build since the one before it had been messed up by CVS. You might want to check to see that your prefs.ini file (the one in the data folder) is not read only.
Depends on whether the code to keep ships from getting stuck under stars would let it stay there or not, I suppose...it seems as if it might be confusing to some people though...
...but I tried to go through all the notes I've been missing this past week, and I've made notes of the bugs reported. I've just been swamped this week. Thanks for all your hard work.
I don't think that there's anything in there right now to check to see what you can build or what's useful, so you're just getting bad luck with the scouts. It just randomly makes a new ship out of all possible ship types, although this will have to be tweaked because if you keep getting transports early in the game on a tiny galaxy, it's WAY too easy to win...
ughgh...I guess I'm going to have to start playing without autoturn more often...
Umm....it's quiet likely that the ship was there in orbit when you took over the planet, so now it's yours.
Yeah...we have similar problems in a couple of areas. There's nothing automatically done about fields with strings that are too long for them...we will eventually probably have to make scrollable text windows for areas like the GNN.
Umm...it wasn't really planned. I sometimes find it useful, unless my economy in the last game went down the tubes...
You know, I don't know. :) I just asked Kris and he said that it's going to be rank in the galaxy.
I don't think anything currently uses it (unless it affects the economy) but it will affect your trade and diplomacy.
Hmm...not even sure if we're supposed to be able to go past class 26 planets...
Umm...I'm surprised that it even ends up selecting the ship on auto-pilot...it's not supposed to jump to a ship on auto-pilot...don't you at least get a pause between shifting?
