Please send me the save game at [email protected] Also, please install and run SmartException from https://www.stardock.com/products/smartexception so that you can send in a crash log the next time that you get a crash.
When I have updated my older custom ship design, for example with newer lasers, I can't build ships acoording to the upgraded design, I just get the old one instead. If you have a save game that can reproduce this, please e-mail it to me at [email protected] along with a detailed description of how t
Ugleb, please send your debug.err file and a screenshot to me at [email protected] regarding the corruption on the main screen.
Is this the same as the activation error? Can you get in the game now?
The governor tab for the domestic policy screen is not implemented yet.
I suppose we could make it an option. Will anyone speak for the space monster? --Cari
It sounds like the information in the raceconfig xml file and the custom planet file are different. I'll check into that.
I can tweak the function that pre-picks the star systems for the players.
AngleWyrm, that sounds more like a driver issue to me. If even the gcconfig program is crashing on load, it's extremely not compatible.
please send the debug.err file to [email protected] whenever you get string not found errors, because it prints out which string it was trying to find.
It sounds to me as if your shortcut in the start menu is trying to start you in the wrong directory, since it runs fine out of Stardock Central. You can remove the shortcut from the start menu and create a new one by right clicking on the GalCiv2.exe file.
If you still get the crashes after re-installing, send the crash logs to [email protected]
Well, I'm a bit biased, since I'm one of the developers (for both GC1 and GC2), but I say yes. Here are some of the reasons why: 1) The 3D engine makes a huge difference. Zooming in and out of the map, multiple resolution support (with more viewable area on the starmap for higher resolutions), and being able to change the angle. 2) Ship design, which would have been very cheesy and probably looked terrible on a 2D e
Jack, can you please e-mail me your debug.err file? That will contain what strings it's looking for.
Hmm, I didn't see the problem with the icons not showing up in the tile. Are you sure it just didn't select another tile? I have reproduced the bug with not being able to click on the queue. You can move stuff around in the queue by selecting the tile where you are building something and then using the up down arrows or x button as normal.
Auto Survey will only work if there are anomalies in explored space. If they're under the FOW, it won't go to them.
Hey guys, just thought that I'd remind you that we have a chatroom on irc.stardock.com. If you'd like to chat with other players (and occasionally developers) , connect to irc.stardock.com with an IRC client (there's one in SDC if you've never used IRC before) and type /join #galciv. I'd love to see you there. --Cari
Citizen 4D, if you still have problems, please e-mail the gc2.log file to me at [email protected]
And people tend to read subject lines rather than long windy posts with lots of replies.
You may also want to turn off anti-aliasing when playing on your laptop as well. It won't look as pretty, but you'll get better framerates.

For how long do you think CariElf is a Stardock employee? I started out here at Stardock as a lowly intern in June 2000. When I graduated in December 2000, I was offered a full time position. Incidentally, crunc
All it does is add extra hurt to the young teenage girl who had an abortion because she didn't know anyother way. Or the mother of five who couldn't feed the ones she had and couldn't stand to see another one of her children go hungery. Or the woman who's doctor told her that if she cared the baby to term she would die. I just th
