Locamana, you're missing the point. The crosses aren't about enumerating sins. They represent the number of babies that are killed by abortion every day. The position of the Catholic Church is that abortion is murder. Many people, not just Catholics, feel the same way. Is it wrong for those of us who have never committed murder to condemn those who do commit murder because we have never been in that situation? The crosses are not about

I took a writing seminar thing once before college and they used to give us something to write a story around. First they had us write about a window. Then they had us write about a door. Then they had us write about a road. We could incorporate the door, window, and road into the story any way that we wanted to, and people got really original. They were all short stories, but a few people wove them together. My point is, sometimes all it takes is

I agree that putting it up at Halloween obscures the point. A few years ago I used to work with the youth group of a Church here in Plymouth and I helped put up the crosses when they did it. We got a lot of angry calls and letters, even from parishioners. The complaint that stuck in my head was a mother complaining that her 6 year old wanted to know why all the crosses were there, and she didn't want to have to explain abortion to the child.

No, we don't have any kind of colony template thing at the moment. We're going to want you feedback on what we currently have before we make any further changes to it.

Farming, and Research. However, I don't know that this will be necessary as you should only ever have the latest in a given category, plus any wonders, super projects, and capitals so the list won't be that long. The older improvements are obsoleted as new ones become available, and there's the auto upgrade option to automatically upgrade your built and queued projects as the new improvements become avaialble. There's also an auto-terraform option; as you research s

I started one last year too but I ended up getting too far behind because of other stuff that was going on. I eventually realized that there were too many days days thinking "I can make it up over the weekend." However, I think I still have the file on my laptop harddrive and I still like the story concept. I've always wanted to write a novel. My main problem is that I'm better at writing anecdotes (and I'm really bad at fighting scenes or battles

Please add several "cheat codes" to the game that will unlock the following abilities - Reveal Everything: shows everything on the Galactic Map regardless of range and suspends the "fog-of-war" - AI ships, planets, anomalies, junk, etc. CTRL+U <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="95%" align=center bgColor=#FFF394 class="mb-Body-Quote-Tabl

Actually, you won't be able to change the number of sectors from the data files. Also, GalCivWriter won't work with the data files in GC2 anymore because they have all been converted to XML. XML is much more forgiving than the custom formats we used before, and we're hoping that it will cause less problems for the translators. Please do not try testing with modified data files at this time. We need the unmodded game to be thoroughly tested before we test with mods.&nbsp

Neither are 640, 480, 800, 768, 1152, 864, 1280, 720, or 960. In fact, 1024 is the only standard resolution height or width that *is* a power of 2 that I can think of Ah, you're right. Sorry, was thinking in terms of textures rather than devices.

Looks nice, but... There is the typical problem with my keyboard layout in my country and with english layout. ";" Is under shift key, and even better if I want to get the " ` " I need to press Shift " ` " and then press space. The "+", "-", " ' " keys are IIRC located in different places in english layout and mine. Unless these hotkeys can be customised, I que

Well, if it's actually shutting down GalCiv2, that's a bit more serious than just the missing turn bug. Does it happen even on the smaller galaxies? However, we've been fixing a lot of stuff since Beta 3, so if you're still getting the problem in Beta 4, we'll take a closer look at it.

My laptop is widescreen and it does work fine in widescreen; GalCiv can run in any resolution that is at least 1024x768. However, I find it extremely odd that your laptop runs at 1024x600, since 600 isn't a power of 2. Can you increase the resolution to 1280 x 800 without it having to edge scroll?

In addition, I think there is a LOT of redundancy. My daughter has already been taught the water cycle twice. I remember learning the same old things every year, too. I don't, however, remember retaining it any better. One of the pro

Astax, by ghosting do you mean have the mouse and keyboard send the message to both computers, so that the mouse cursors move simutaneously, etc? That's almost a completely different program. Although, you might want to come up with other practical applications of that feature if you want to try to talk the Multiplicity developers into putting that in.

Exiled isn't the highest rank. It just sorts that way because if you're using an unsigned integer, -1 becomes a really big positive number. If you get exiled from the metaverse, it usually means that you cheated. We haven't had to do that very often. Exile from one of our forums generally means that, even after warnings, disobeyed forum rules. Harassing the admins can also earn you exile. And I do mean harrassment, not just simple annoyance.

One of our artists has a laptop with a gfx card that only has 32 MB and GalCiv2 does run on it, but it's slower than on my laptop, which has the same specs except that my video card has 64 MB. Also, on the larger galaxies, it might start blowing out your texture memory. We're going to do what we can to keep the texture memory to a minimum, but the larger galaxies are probably still going to push the limits just because of the sheer number of graphical objects that need

I have heard that movie theaters wouldn't make any money if it weren't for the concession stands, and that's why the prices are so high. Since the amount of commercials before the movie has increased, I suspect that they aren't helping much either. I think that even with piracy, cable, and more affordable home equipment, the high prices would still keep people away. I really like going to the movies. I like the big comfy seats, stadium st

BuzzardBlaster, I rather like that idea. Also, Brad mentioned the other day that in the OS/2 version of GalCiv, there was a "Go Home" button on the ship list entries that made the ship return to its home planet. Currently, the button on the ship list entry sends the ship to wherever the center of the screen happens to be, but I think that a "Go Home" button might be more useful.
