I don't know how to deal with "girl games" as you put it, either, because my mom raised me to be nice to people, and my siblings and cousins were raised the same way by their mothers. It looks as if she won't get tired of it. Maybe if you continue to make overtures she'll come to trust and like you. Really, the only other thing you can do is to keep telling yourself that she can't bother you until you believe it. If you stoop to her level, y

We are making it so that each of the major races can have their own star system. The format of the file containing the star system is in xml so it will be fairly easy for people to copy, paste, and edit the tables to create their own home star systems for custom races.

Heh....actually, peanut butter is pretty far down on my list of foods that I like. It's my last resort if I have nothing else for lunch. I prefer caramel with my chocolate, and strawberries over cherries. That being said, please don't send me sweets. I appreciate the sentiment but I'm trying to avoid temptation.

1) You're right. There's actually only 1 true Windows window in the whole game, the one that the game runs in. The rest of the "windows" are actually just data structures that contain the information about where to paint them, how big they are, etc. That description is a big simplified, but most people's eyes start glazing over when I get technical. I haven't

Will this also queu buildings that are being currently constructed? When I coded it, I made it so that it would go through and change the obsoleted projects in the queue to the upgraded version, but apparently that's more than was expected of me. So I'll have to find out if I can leave it like that.

Well, if the intercept ship had to move to attack the enemy ship, it would definitely make the AI turn longer. It would probably make the moving code even more complex than it already is. It might not be so bad if the intercept ship didn't move, but stayed in one place as if it were in guard mode, and only attacked if the enemy ship came within attack range. If we have time for a few extra small features, I'll bring this up and see what Brad thinks of it.</

The internet check option on the options screen refers to the metaverse code, which is not currently active. A more accurate check to see if it's something internet related would be to try turning off your firewall.

Multiplicity is actually for multiple computers, each with at least one monitor. I'm not sure how GC2 will work with multiple monitors. Use GCConfig and see what is the maximum resolution you can start GC2 in.

Think tanks might well be valuable, especially for new players, but I can tell you right now we won't have time to put something like that into the game. It would take too long.

We didn't add ship design and multiple playable races because we wanted to make the game more like MOO2. We added them because they're great features. Gal Civ for OS/2 had Shipyards, which allowed you to design your own ships. We would have liked to do them in GalCiv for Windows, but we just didn't have the time to do it right, and it would have required a lot more art, which would have also increased the amount of RAM it used up. It would have been kludgy, limited, and

I'm signed up with various dating sites and on one of them, a guy e-mailed me for the first time, with one question. "What OS do you use?" I got a kick out of it. In the geek world, I suppose it's like asking someone for their zodiac sign.

Here in Michigan, I think that the kids HAVE to go for at least 180 days of school. If we have too many snow days, the kids have to go longer into the summer. There's no reason why the Georgia schools can't go a few extra days in June to make up for these days, if missing the days is a problem for the curriculum. When I worked on databases for a cable company in college, the Quality Control department offered the techs the opportunity to

Thanks for your responses guys and gals. I understand the arguements for multiplayer and against multiplayer. It is my belief that there are enough people out there who would use the multiplayer feature to make it worth it. You believe this, but you have no data to back this belief up. That is why, if we do multiplayer, it will be in

The galaxies sizes are currently smaller than they will be when the game is released. We reduced the number of sectors in all the galaxies for testing purposes and we will increase them as we make sure that we aren't blowing out the texture memory or anything like that.
