Kyro, we don't have a good/evil/neutral scheme right now for the interface. We may, however, change portions of the interface to reflect which race you're playing as.

e to find a model converter... Currently most of our textures are in .png format, but we may convert them all to being a type of .dds file, which is why I said that you might need DXTex.
Yes, you will need to pre-order GC2 or a TG.Net subscription to get the beta.
s (%s, %d, etc) with tags like [CIVNAME], [PLANETNAME], and [MONEY]. This will make it easier to tell what is being changed by the event.
I would be very happy when it runs on my Athlon 500 with Matrox G400 and 192MB. I'm confident that I will have the budget to buy GC2 but unfortunately I don't have it for a new PC. If your video drivers do not support DirectX 9.0c, you will not be able to run GC2 because, among other things, you wil
The GC2 website will be publicly available the first week of February. The beta of the game won't come out until the end of February.
I don't really have a problem having fun on the weekends. Plus, if we think that we're going to need to work on the weekend, it gives us a chance to do so. I actually didn't work this weekend, but I got a good portion of my stuff done today.
The primary thing that I worked on this week was decreasing the loading time when starting a new game. I had discovered last week that the graphics were what was taking up the most time to load. So the first thing I did was to create a background thread to pre-load the models so that they would be cached in system memory when the actual objects were being created.
RAM would probably help because 2D graphics are stored in RAM until it has to start swapping hard drive space. Also, while I admit that I could be wrong, there isn't really any hardware acceleration for 2D anymore, at least not in DirectDraw, which is what GC1/AP uses. Please note that when I say DirectDraw, I mean DirectDraw7, the last version of DirectDraw. DirectDraw doesn't really exist anymore in the latest versions of DirectX. Does anyone remember
planets, but you can if you want to micromanage them.
p; It's also about requiring the player to actually make a strategic choice when building a starbase. There isn't a lot of strategy involved in just building everything.
although the event list will have to be something that is brought up by a button because we left it out of the main interface this time.
Our current focus is to get the early part of Gal Civ looking and behaving the way it should, as much as possible. This includes the intro, more finalized versions of the setup screens, the ship design screen, the planet management screen, and more of the graphics in: more ships, anomalies, resources, and a variety of planet textures. We also have to make sure that
The point of separation of church and state is not to exclude all religion from the state. It is to give equal rights to all religions. If there was a Muslim version of the boyscouts, they would have the same right to hold after school meetings as the boyscouts. It is ridiculous to say that the goverment favors one group over another if it lets a group like the boyscouts have meetings after school. If you're a Muslim and there isn't a Muslim group
ive modules other than the modules for that type. So no more Water Slides of Doom. (And that last comment is a lot funnier if you're familiar with Steve Jackson's game Munchkin.)
I mean the diplomatic trade screen.
Well, I finally managed to get the tiling code done this week, so I should be able to hook up the pictographs on the planet management screen that show the production values (military, social and research) at some point when we get back from the holidays. I started working on the trade screen so that we could get some diplomacy back in the game. Apart from th
Not that I know of...I'll ask Pat about it.
Sounds like you might be using an earlier version of Gal Civ. You can get the latest version from Stardock Central. http://storage.stardock.com/files/stardockcentral20.exe
Can you unzip it, though?
Interesting. Check to make sure that you have the Multimedia update installed, and if you do, check to see what the other mp3s are sampled at. The Korx and Drath are probably sampled at 128 kbps 44 KHz (stereo)
I might need to install the extras. But I believe that there are other free tools out there.
And, that statement would also hint that non-christians are not typically good people. Ethics and morality are not tied to religion I didn't mean to imply that. I was trying to say that the Pope and Mother Theresa were misjudging a lot of people.
I like Scattegories also but it doesn't cause as much hilarity as Taboo or some of the other games I listed. Also, I want to know why they couldn't just leave that Q off...
Interesting. If you try playing the mp3s in Windows Media player or some other media player program, do they play correctly? And you get sound for other apps, so it's probably not that you don't have the digital output only box checked in your settings. What kind of sound card do you have in the new machine? I see that it says integrated on that list, but if you check in system->Device Manager does it list the manufacturer?
