Some of you may have noticed that your ships aren't showing up in the orbit slots. The ships are actually in orbit and if you click on the correct slot and then hit the launch button, they will leave orbit. The first ship is usually in the upper right hand corner. Ships launch directly below the planet and if you already have a ship in that space, you may have trouble seeing it. We'll post another update after the holiday weekend and we should have that fixed in tha
e any messages in your debug.err about the software cursor? It should be near the top.
Jelvis, are you changing your civilization name or homeworld name?
Can I get a screenshot if it happens again?
Try changing the race that you're playing. We're working on fixing this, but until we get the next update up you can try out the beta with another race.
ff like that in GalCiv2. It's just for skinning the UI. Currently, it's only using scripting information for resizing the windows.
reat experience. If the number of pre-orders is high enough to justify the development time, you will get multiplayer.
LOL, Lisp!
er, they're listed under "Extras" on the Ship Design screen, for lack of room for a bigger string. So I don't know what will go in the manual.
Well, I was going to have screenshots this week of the screens that I worked on. I forgot about making screenshots until after I'd already updated my code from the server, and then I discovered that I needed a new library that was just added this week to the server. Well, the server says that library isn't there. So I can't compile my code again until I get that library, and that means I can't run GC2 again until I get that library. Which means no screenshots tonight. I'll try to remember to edi
If you turn off autosave does it make a difference? Do you get a bluescreen and an error code or does it just reboot? Have you tried running chkdsk and disk defrag to make sure that there are no bad sectors on your hard drive? It could be something overheating. You could try downloading this and see what happens when you play GC. http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fi
ships and starbases is really something that has to be playtested before a good balance can be found.
I worked on the save game wnd this week, modifying the graphics from the options wnd. It needs some tweaking, graphically, but I think that all the code it needs is in, and I was able to test to make sure that I could load a saved game. I'm not sure how well it will work if you do it from within a game, or for that matter, how starting a new game from within a game
sh as a first language wanders into our chat room and needs help with one of our products and I have trouble without the necessary vocabulary.
le that it would take to implement that boggles my mind. That'd be like putting an entirely different game inside of GalCiv2.
p in beta. I don't want that to happen with GC2.
Yes, TotalGaming.net subscribers will also have access to the beta.
o, if you haven't been reading the dev journals, I suggest that you check them out. They're a great way to keep up with what's going on with GalCiv2.
hat we want to test mods.
ime being dead. Anyway, we haven't started work on the events yet, so maybe we'll revisit this issue then.
