There was a version of NVidia drivers that stripped out support for DirectX 9.0c in Geforce 2 cards so you may want to check the release notes to see if they mention anything like that. It still works on my Geforce2 Ultra with the latest drivers, though. Also, when you update your drivers, you almost always want to uninstall the existing drivers, reboot, and then install the new drivers. If you've already installed your new drivers over the old ones, you may want to try un

Added these to my list.
Yeah, there's code in there that clips the mouse coordinates to the screen which fixes one kind of error but it obviously causes this one.
If you hit F4 you can get the overhead view for the main map. The reason that we made the angled view the default one was because you lose a lot of the aesthetic value of a 3D engine when you just have an overhead view. I can make an option for the options window that corresponds to the F1, F2, F3, and F4 keys so that your games will always start in that set angle.
We will be addressing most of those issues. As for #4, culture and borders will be determined by the zone of control as shown by the lines on the main map. I believe that when someone else's ZOC expands to include one of your planets you'll get a warning before it culture flips, like in GC1.
It's on the list.
Also the screen scrolls really slow when moving the cursor on the map. is there any way to speed it up on the scrolling of the main map? If you mean the edge scrolling, not currently. I didn't have time to put in an option to change the speed.
Well we would probably make it random if it creates a debris anomaly or not. Or it might be better to make it an actual object that can only be salvaged by a salvage ship, and since the AI could also use it, you wouldn't necessarily have to worry about it staying on the map.
Hmmm...that's weird. Hardware mouse should always works. It just turns off the software mouse, which is the nice pretty image and goes back to using whatever your system cursor is. Can you please send me your debug.err file after messing with the hardware mouse cursor option for awhile? Be sure to include in your e-mail a description of the bug so I know that it's in reference to this issue. [email protected]
Racial portraits for dialog boxes in the main map appear to be sandwiched, or squished. Can we get a screenshot of this please? Allow a right click in blank space to center the camera on the location of the click
Added to my list.
HercMighty, can you send me a screenshot with your debug.err file so that we can check it out? Make sure you tell me in the e-mail that it's in reply to this thread. [email protected]
Can you please install SmartException from https://www.stardock.com/products/smartexception The submit button won't work, but you can attach the file it makes, GalCiv2.exe.cra, in an e-mail to me at [email protected]
I wasn't able to get in the new shading differences in before this latest update. It should be in the next build. It will be more apparent with these, and we also plan to add icons to show if a tech has been researched and if it is the tech currently being researched.
I'll take a look at the code that clears out an existing game.
C'mon, beer vs. new video card? You had to think about it? Glad that you were able to get it running.
DungeonGod, if you're still getting the crashes on startup can you please e-mail the debug.err report to me at [email protected] ?
I asked one of the managers and he said that at some point when Gal Civ 2 is released you should be able to get an ISO of the CD, but there's nothing in place right now and the beta will only ever be available through SDC.
Hmmm...the code that translates the mouse coordinates must be unforgiving. I'll add that to my list to look at.
I don't know if it will be accessible through Stardock Central. I'll ask Pat.
gherardo, no, we don't have anything like that.
We probably should change that but we haven't yet.
Marcus Aurelius, please e-mail me your debug.err file. [email protected]
The save game bugs should be gone in the next update. I'll have to look into the destroy crash though.
