The skin is back.
It's funny, you're at about the same weight and height as I am (I'm a tad shorter, and a pound or two heavier), and are doing more or less the same thing I am to drop the weight (eating better and walking a lot). Beat The Force Unleashed this weekend. Spent the rest of it reinstalling the OS on my main PC. I'm now fully 64-bit baby! Took Crysis for a spin on Vista64 to see if 64 bit helped, and to finally check out the DX10 goodies. Nicer lighting, shadows and atmospheric effects, but not a huge improvement over DX9, and it brought a considerable performance hit. You need at least 20gb or so available on drive C to start with (35 total if C is also your game install directory).
Last I checked, there were no plans to integrate VOIP directly into the client. Software like xfire, teamspeak and ventrilo are already well established and used by all sorts of people. Run that in the background and you'll be golden :)
It seems like this fight flares up every few months, skinning vs gaming. OS, video card, driver version, directx version... Basically the system info from your DXDiag.
Also make sure you have the latest version of DirectX
