Yahoo! Bring on Beta 4!!!! :CONGRAT:
Star Ranger
I run the game on huge - and I only have about a 5 second wait at worst- sometimes almost none. I think it's your system. I personally Love the huge galaxy - give more realistic approach to the game. Jerry
Solitar (Paul) said it best - it's called the law of diminishing returns. Here's a suggestion - build 1 star base- get 100 % of it's cultural effect - build another - get 50 %, build another - get 25 %, and so on. :CONGRAT:
The star bases broadcasting culture is an exploit - it needs to be toned way down. >:(
Frogboy - I think you got it right - be sure to include something on it's hard to convert opposite aligned empires - such as good and evil. Jerry
I still prefer no culture from star bases - but I think this will be a good compromise to have some - Planets should give the most culture influence - they have the most people. Star bases by definition have only a few thousand people - and 1 planet with Billions of people should be able to have more influence than than several star bases. Building more star bases for more influences is a cheezy way to win over and there should be limits - either a decresing amount or after
I concur that it is sometimes too easy to win by cultural conquest - my suggestion - have star bases not give out culture points. Culture should eminate from the planets - that's it. :D
Thanks for the tips ! I'll try some new games to see if I can do differnt outcomes.
I just purchased Galatic Civilations the other day and I am loving it. I have some newbie questions if someone can help me out . 1st - how do you attack another empire starships? I have figured out transports and invasions - but when I am at peace and I want to attack another empire - I am having trouble doing so. My battel cruser just flies over the same square as the opponent star fighter. even when I try and put it on auto-attack mode - nothing happens - any suggestions? Maybe a
Terror stars also need to have a high maintenance cost too - not to mention that there should be some ethical consequences if you use them. Perhaps neutral and evil races can use terror stars while good can only use "defensive" terror stars - just a thought. In return good - races get "XXXXX". I'm not sure what it could be - but I think that they has to be a moral cost to using a terror star.
