Hey Dev team, I think you have nerfed influence down way too much. in the last several games I have played on 4 C version - I like owned 60 % of the map - totally surrounded my opponents and build all the bonus influences advances - but I had only 1 planet convert to my side the whole game - what gives??? Jerry :notsure:
Star Ranger
I have noticed while playing that the computer "knows" where the good planets are and where the resources are. It always moves the colony ships in a direct line to them. This was on the average setting. The computer should randomly search for planets - just like us humans *maybe on the genius level it doesn't - a thought). Jerry
hmmmm tough one - when I played some of the parger games - it seemed reasonably fast - my guess - try and speed up computer on computer combat.
This crash occured when you tried to get a planet from the computer for peace - it was repeatable. If you just made peace without asking for a planet - nothing unusual happened - you got peace - but if you wanted a system or two - crashed to desktop. Thank you Lucky Jack!!!
Just wondering........
Gherardo - I'm not sure I agree with you - when I worked for IBM, many people theree believed that OS/2 Warp was superior to Windows - but what they found was the same demise as apple computers - no one (their customers) wanted to be the trail blazer that bought an operating system that was incompatable with windows and had very few applications made for it. So what ended up is that some companeis did buy it (very few) but manly for back end processing (OS/2 was more stable t
hot off the press - check this out - looks like the nails are going in the coffin for OS/2 Warp. link #1 http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=6667 Link #2 http://www.amdzone.com/ (it's mid way on the page) For those who don't want to go to the page - IBM waves goodbye to OS/2 operating system Warp Factor 2003 By Mike Magee: Wednesday 11 December 2002, 08:14 ALTHOUGH IBM'S OS/2 has certainly been low profi
now that we are going to be very active in reporting crashes - we should make a seperate folder for beta crash reports - so we don't clutter the general discussion. Thoughts?
What next? Does someone have some instructions on what to do next? I did find the file that was created on the crash - and I used a single word editor to view it - but who do I send it to and what else do they need? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Jerry :notsure:
Your absolutely right -Lucky Jack - IBM is becoming the biggest Linux shop (or trying to) in town. Why Linux you ask? It's just a way to be more competitive on pricing (without having to pay royalty or licensing fees). :CONGRAT:
I haven't noticed any "bonus techs" from spying- and I get to advanced level of spying within an enemy empire. :notsure:
Don't believe the hype - I worked for IBM recently for a few years and they ARE phasing it out - they keep the above spin up because they still have customers paying for support of OS/2. :p
Can someone post the link where I can get the Stardock smart-exception program - I'd like to be able to tell the developers more accurately where the problems are. Thank you. Jerry PS - thanks lucky Jack. :)
well I guess I might be in the minority. :p
Hey lucky Jack - how do you get all that logging info - is there a place I need to look? Jerry
Hurah for multiple save games!!! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
PLEASE have beta 4 released on Friday - it would be great to have a more stable game to find the remaining bugs. Thank you! Jerry
well it's more fo a work-around. If you want to attack ship "a" - make sure your ship has enough movement to move 1 square behind it. Then click on the space right behind the ship and your ship will engage the enemy ship. Jerry :CONGRAT:
any chance of beta 4 being released earlier this week? Please please please :) :) :) :) :) ;) ;) :p :p ;p ;p I want to play on a more stable galactic civ :)
I like the love mushrooms!
Frogboy - it would be nice if you can "turn off" certain victory conditions - for those who want a pure military conquest, etc. I enojoy the game's many differnt avenues to take - but it is nice to force yourself to achieve a certain victory condition over others sometimes. Jerry
Frogboy - it might be good also to "request" certain combinations or senarios be tested rather than just report what we find - I think that would be of more value to you. Jerry
I have just played several games (or tired to - it crashed a few times)on medium size galaxy - with all civs - and I notice that my population decreases after about turn 40. My income begins to decrease too - even if I set the tax rate as low as 12 %. You might want to look into this. Ironically - I don't seem to have the problem on huge or gigantic galaxies. :p
I play with 1.2 gighz on gigantic and I never wait more than 5 second with all civs. ;p Jerry
