Note: I don't hate Steam, I just don't want to be forced to run Steam to play a game because it's been problematic at times- when that happens I want to just be able to run the game executable and play it. <br

Don't use it then, but don't force others to play the way you do. & I don't care what you like and don't like. Don't force me to do what you like. And I shouldn't have to pay for ships in an expansion that I ALREADY paid for in the original game. I don't care if it's incomplete, put it in as it
Meh to both. Dynasties may be cool, but it would ONLY work if properly functional within the diplomacy framework. As is, diplomacy with other factions is far from decent and a great deal more work needs to be done in that aspect before dynasties can be revisited. As to ship units, I really don't like the concept of having ship units in FE. I would MUCH rather see 4-way wrap world in effect so that land formations are contiguous in any direction. HOWEVER, since ships
I really wish that if you had a champion that took Path of the Mage that staves would output more damage than if they were used by someone not trained in the ways of the mage. As is, staves are continually balanced up against bows, and that just doesn't seem right. Mages should not prefer to use bows over magical staves. Just some thoughts.
I don't mind them taking as long as they want....I just like that list to continue to grow. XD
I've stopped using auto-select next unit. Too many times I've had it where I've picked up loot, but the UI is auto transferring me to the next unit already...frustrating as I need to find the first unit back again so that I can finish my loot. Especially frustrating because whenever loot is acquired, there is not option to enter into the Equip screen so that you can make an educated decision as to whether or not you want the new loot item equipped.
Great podcast! Excellant way to have a tour through Derek's brain in what he hoped/planned/executed in FE. Solid listen! Some of the points mentioned requiring improvement that really stuck out for me were: 'Building a second city is not spam'. LOL. Fantastic line and so true. However, that said, building 10 outposts and a second city within the first 100 turns IS spam IMO. The fact that the pioneers are still taking up the majority of the queue t
That's a shame, not many ways to get essence. Ok thanks for the info.
Yup. Totally agree. Posted the idea a while back for all factions to gain access to the Scrying Pool, but just tied with a later tech (like Arcane Mastery)...and have Pariden get a boost to the improvent at that same tech in order to maintain balance.... Was not meant to be though.... I'll be modding it in. XD
Would still be nice if there was some visual indicator on the city details screen in addition to the enchantment list.
All graet points!
I have no problem loading if the game does something outside the realm of reasonable. Examples include losing an auto-battle that I SHOULD have easily won, coming across bugs or imbalances that alter the events of the game, having a monster randomly attack you through unreasonable circumstances, etc. If that makes me a 'save scummer', than I'll be the best save scummer I can be. XD
or just have them add the math correctly so that they don't break the units when cast.
This review seems to be trolling. Everything mentioned about the flow of the game (early, mid, late) appears to be backwards from what you'd expect. However, here too, a lack of depth is mentioned in the tactical battles.
That's why I think the game would be better without tactical combat - because it adds little to the gameplay, only gives you the chance to watch your little heroes swing their weapons. I'm waiting to play the scenario cause of the number of bug fixes listed on here, and I am looking forward to playing it, so am hoping to see this soon.
ditto. Patiently waiting for this release, but hopefuly that Derek is putting a slew more fixes, balances, and new content in prior. ;) (and pedestrians for 32-bit users. [e digicons]:pout:[/e] )

Solid reflections. Agree with pretty much everything here.
I should hope so! Having a unit...it should be a paid unit. As to the balance of how MUCH they should be paid, I think they're both a little high.
Good Morning So I finished the campaign over the weekend and thought I'd post the good, the bad, and the ugly for others reviews and comments. The Good: First off, story was great! Maybe a little drawn out in a few places, but overall was really enjoyed. Really loved the 'sudden reversal' plot, how Relias fulfilled the prophecy he was trying to avoid. Really loved Shayai at the end there. Wish there was a precursor engagemen
Is it maps? Or stamps? I'd love to get ahold of a 100x stamps package to help randomize the maps that come with the game...

Good Morning So I'm in chapter 5 and just obtained the ability to build transports. Thus I decided to do some exploring... Found something interesting, but not sure how to interact with it....if I'm supposed to. Right in the very bottom left corner of the map, there is a 1-square landable island with a man just standing offshore entitled "Minor Sovereign". Just a little level 1 dude with no items. Thought I'd be able to trade with him or somet
Man...I often have it where a lone strong unit is a hair's breathe away from dying and all I need is one more hit against it to finish it off. I move my strongest guy into position and before swinging say to myself "watch me miss", and then swing and it MISSES. This has happened to me soooo many times.
