That windows 9 start menu looks like half windows 7 and some misplaced chunks of photography. I do not care, I love 7 and will not be switching any time soon it appears. Good info though, thank you. [e digicons][/e]

I just started my time off, day 1 of 5, so happy. I worked 32 hours of overtime last pay period. So tiring. And yes, they have minus numbers, just for me!
Probably looks even more weird with my old avatar still there. [e digicons]X([/e]
I knew if that emote concentrated hard enough it would change my avatar, or he would poop, man what an expression.Okay I b updated, thanks.
Trying to get rid of my alien face, excuse me for a sec. [e digicons]X|[/e]
Cute! Matchbook, knice edition to the post,!
Art has been judged on a visual basis since the first time someone said, "Ohh, that's nice". But, can't even be honest here, so, enjoy yourselves.
Back on topic... You know what I really think? Skinning is a community, and as such we should all support each other and treat each other with respect. Not only is downrating someone else's skin to make your own look better selfish and spiteful, it's disrespectful. Those are your fellow skinners and you treat them like dirt. In my view anyone who treats their fellow skinners in this manner is not f
I know, shut up already. I have a curious confession. By that I mean, in the past, and I only recall two occasions, I rated a skin with a one star, they were master skins, but I honestly felt they looked like nothing special: does not mean not a great skin:, just not extraordinary. The reason for the one star was simple, it seems a vote does not do much to change a rating and some of the skins that just get a ten rating regardless, I felt should be less and in an effort to drive
I am glad GMC2 sees my side. I do not , under normal circumstances , down rate, but try to give some type of opinion in the form of a rating. I usually comment when I vote, so no secret to my opinion. But, as far as master skins, I am on board with gmc2, why would I pay when I can create. So, being a skinner , with experience, to what level is beside the point, I create decent work, and can tell if someone put extra effort in a skin by a preview for the most part. Is it the sa
This makes me more confused a layer with a drop shadow and it shows fine, although, I did notice it is just an (f) layer, made also in my old Adobe Elements, which is not as complex as PS is now, maybe allowing it to work? I am asking, I have only made one xion, and working on this one, so I like to get free info!
I did all that then resized the image. Big mistake! Resized too small and the text blurred to unreadable. Back to the drawing board. It may take awhile but I'll get it. In the meantime anyone else with experience with Xion feel free to add your two cents. My next question is how to get the equalizer and album art to show. When I click on the eq button it just loads a different skin. This is the text that goes into the layer properties.
That can't be correct on the simplified layer topic, I have skins that work just fine as groups, not rasterized, or, simplified.I b confused now, quit it. Someone else got an opinion, lol.
On the above post I made I mentioned master skins and ratings. Elaboration begins. I said support, but yes, at times may be lack of support depending on the skin screen capture. I try to base it on what is visible, is it creative, unusual, clean, color coordinated, all the key things you are able to get from an image. With out paying for the skin, I have no other option other than to stay silent, yeah right! Sometimes I may forgo a vote, because I see nothing t
I agree 99 percent with the download first, rate second, but, I do like to cast a visual vote based on screeny of Master skins, because I do not purchase(sorry skinners) masters skins, but like to show my support to others skinning by tagging some stars for them, that would stop that. I guess the trade would be fair though, look first, rate later.
Quoting Kevin_Walter,
maybe this is all a mistake, and the culprit(s) have dyslexia , or read right to left and got the stars wrong. Anyhow, I like ratings, I like comments, just have to suck up the ratings and comments I disagree with, or try, and keep skinning, and enjoy the good ones. At the end of the day , I doubt the world is sitting at home checking to see who has more stars, with skinners I believe it is a competition of cousre, and why not, we all want to stand out.
Well Ross, you are a smart man and I know that there are better and more experienced xion skinners here, but as of late, I am doing pretty well with my next xion and may be able to assist if you like. I await the forums to see, luck either way, and yes, very confusing, and wait til you do a playlist, lol. God forbid you want it resizable, could drive ya nuts bud! [e digicons][/e]
Late to the party again, as usual. But, some words of advice, RUN RUN RUN, now you have a new can of worms, or can be. As soon as you created a "item mouse over" for the places list, text settings quit working normally. By that I mean the colors for mouseover states and such can be quite confusing to get right or to your liking. Best option is to set all , programs and places text to "os defaults" and gradually change states and colors checking to see what you get. Als
Does that mean u got it or do you still have questions? [e digicons]:|[/e]
Further thoughts, I guess if you do not want the text down that far on the start menu, it will not suffice to do the above. Also, on the search results area, you could use the start menu animation layer to create a lite gradient or color or texture change that will stay visible when in search mode. I did this on my current work, but just to tone down the gradient effect that is coded to that area. I just did a saturation layer to adjust the lightness and color some. I m
Okay, I get it, now I wonder why we didn't get a wb owners manual, lol. I was wondering if you could accomplish you goal, not sure if that is the point here though, is it, by leaving the user pic, but making the image blend with the places list so as to appear invisible, then align things. I did it with mt new skin and it is a wood texture, blends real nice, maybe an option. If not okay, just a thought. Basically, we all need to accept
Okay, I will give you time to see my last post, but in the meantime, you state you tried some things with Dave's skin. I have to say by what I read you are not understanding things correctly. If you just change the size of an image through sks, without changing the image , it will always be messed up. You would have to re-cut the start menu and make the top image to that

If you just change the size of an image through sks, without changing the image , it will always be messed up. Well, I am not sure where you are at, see lots of help came while I went absent on you. So as stated by Dave Baxter above, the woodgrain or whatever it is was added to the skin, so now, part of the skin unless removed manually. Also, on that note, to adjust the user pic location, you use the text settings for the top part, and I wonder since some parts have been changed, if you checked those settings. However, that would just affect one skin not several, not eve
If the user pic area was set as "do not show", or "hide", that is what it would do , hide. If this is what you mean by" profile image ". That looks like a remnant of an "item mouseover" for the places list. Could be a margin issue or a crop issue. May need a better screenshot. Do you have sks?
