I totally agree. It opens a real need: more customization for the sov/race and for the type of game to play. If I want to play a fire mage, and have the option of investing a point in a fire shard...It is like to say I found a suitable place with the needed shard to start my empire. So bad to have a fire mage and not fire shards...yes it might happen, but at least, this way gives more motivation if can't find more fire shards late in game. But I would cap it: - to

After all it has been said, I don't find a reason to make a race to build Wonders, and even more, for them to exist as unique buildings. I don't like that part of Civ into a fantasy game. After all, Wonders represent a big challenge for a civilization in technology, resources and money... So if a civilization starts a wonder, it is because they can do it. There were no other civilizations trying to race with Egypt for pyramids...and yes, there are other big pyramids (mayans, a

I agree with the current 0.5 crystal. It is like the 0.5 horses you get when building stables and NOT HAVING the Mounted technology. The iron mine I think it is the same, but can't remember. It should be the same anyway. In fact, I even would lower it to 0.4, so if you want more, then you must do the research. That means, that without proper technology, big part of the resources are wasting on the process of getting them, or on the other side, even being ignorant on how to harvest,

Very annoying to wake up not only dragons, but medium or strong monsters...they are usually near of essence...so building there is almost suicide. My suggestion: determine if monsters freed from lair should return back,by making some path and or randomization at the movement calculation Every turn, for each tile far from their lair add a ... maybe 10-20%? of returning to their original Lair. So they will wander at around 5-10 tiles from their lair...Not much, but n

Although I like multiplayer, I think this is very hard to implement. Too much randomness in quests, resources (crystal, shards, metal, horses,...) and the rest of lore...some disbalancing between the races... But anyway, the option of having it is tempting...

+1 to Faster production, and easier than reducing production cost... A slider for production, like in research ... that would be perfect...That would allow more customization for each game: want an epic game? NP...Production x1 or maybe even x0.75 ?? really??? :) Just want a fast game for combating, or testing different weapons/magical items, or a new strategy or...? NP... Production x3 (or maybe x5 as <a id="ctl00__Content_

The world of magic is so hard to get balancing...many ideas, some of them are the opposite... Blind (and other duration spells): Turn duration vs Spell Power. Very hard to define. My suggestion: Make each turn an increased (for example +10% or +15% per turn) chance of resisting the spell. That is like acquiring resistence to the spell, or the spell losing power over time if you prefer to say. As turns goes by, chance of resisting it increases, and introduces a random eve

Yes, now I see that way allows that kind of customization.I chose them because a previous game did not find suitable heroes (only the first), with the plenty heroes option, so I tried the maximization for the recruiting traits. The results: I easily recruited 7 heroes (not counting the 5 and above levels, I found 5 more). Anyway, there are not many traits to choose, so by now, maybe it is soon to introduce incompatibilities

[quote who="Heavenfall" reply="5" id="3239450"]There are a whole bunch of problems with the tech tree that prevents the player from really making a long-term choice for strategy. Each game plays the same: Civilization first until Mining, Trading, Cooperation. Then go warfare or magic depending on if you have metal/crystal. Then go warfare because you'll need better armor for your units and heroes. And then the game is over once you get to chainmail and build a few super-u

The truth is I did not stop at making wonders, because AI always finished many of them before me. I didn't know the issue of putting it in queue to block. That brakes the game. I will not use it anyway. IMO, that of the wonders is more for Civ than for EFE. A great Mill? A bazaar? I don't see it. I think there should not be unique wonders, but any faction could build them, at the price of the researching and building time requiered, wich is a lot. If you

I have just tried a custom Sov/raze with Natural Leaders + Betrayer. The result is: having a lot of free heroes (all I could see). And that even before getting the Tech for higher level heroes... I think both traits should be incompatible: only one should be chosen. In other game, I tried the negative trait that increased 50% the hero recruiting cost + Natural Leader. A lvl 3 hero only took me 33 gildar... So if chosing both 3, it is really

I just got the Roads trait in a Governor heroe, for testing purpose. It is so cool to have now the skill of making my wished roads... but why only a Hero, governor, and with the road trait? Isn't it weird? I'm having a hero just for building roads...Roads should be considered for all pioners, and not only for mancers... About that, they should build the outpost (1-3 turns) instead of consuming in the process... so many pioneers are needed... &nbs

I agree too with the easy-to-take cities in early game. The city walls should give dodge vs archers and more defense too. Do you remember how they solved in our dear old MoM? You had to spend some turns breaking the fence, under the fire of archers, catapults, spells,...so that was hard in early game. A walled city gave so much respect for low level units...And walling city was a must do... I still see there are issues with the possibility of making early troops, because of the Warfar

Yes please...take all the time you need and/or consider...many of us have been awaiting for EFE for a long time. Playing betas not only calms the anxiety, but also allow us to find bugs and help polish it to get a better final game. We all want that. For my part, I don't mind in waiting as many patches as necessary to get the great game it is already showing. Gameplay and balance tweeking is one thing, but having it free of bugs must be the main target. Playing for days to arrive

I want to add this: First time I start the game, it always crashes. After closing it, and restart, it executes fine. I had accepted as normal...but it should not be that. I though that, if while it is loading, I change to other program, (like explroer, or whatever) could afect, but even if I do nothing, it crashes too the first time. I find sometimes crashes when loading some savegames, but fortunately, that is less frequent, liek a corrupt save.

About Champion recruiting, I really miss a random component like those who sometimes were wandering through the realm borders... And another way of recruiting like an spell of Hero Calling I don't like the idea of immortality for champs. As said, they are precious and should be protected. Although the idea of injuries is very nice, there should be a chance of total death....so taking an injury could be like...oh, thanks for it, at least he/she is still alive...

I have some suggestion to be considered for improving balance in heroes/troops/monsters. I'm sorry if added some other questions too. - Heroes leveling up. As the problem is that they grow too powerfull, even if XP gain is nerfed, I suggest this: making the stats growing as a selectable trait. You want a mage? Then, chose magic but no health/attack/etc. improves. You want more healt/attack? Then cho

Hello all First of all, greetings for Stardock for their great job on this FE, and all the community working to add ideas and finding bugs. I'll focus on the tech tree. After a few games, I find the Warfare Tree very boring: research attack, research defense...and in the middle, the training technologies. My idea is this: Split the attack technologies from the defense and from the training. Even more: split the different types of attack (pierce/blunt/etc), and make
