Frogboy explained it as "Courage is comes into play when your people are hopelessly outnumbered in an invasion. " ~SDC~

I know it is a silly question but... are you sure the starbase is yours ??? ;p I've been outraced so often by the AI when trying to plant a starbase on a fareway ressource and some time it's hard to distinguish the color of the owner. ~SDC~
I mean: when you get such a bonus, your Max hit point grows but your current hit point does not change. Agreed it seems a little strange and counter-intuitive. ~SDC~
It is most probably because you obtain an bonus on your Hit Points (empire wide) even from space anomalies or through a tech. ~SDC~
Waoh ! It seems that my original comment had started a huge philosophical debat ! (good...) Anyway, I've put "evil" in quotes due to my prior statement "I understand why you chose to associate Euchumenic behavior with Good and Crusade to Evil (there is no other way to create mutually exclusive branches) but seeing how the "Saintly" Altarians usually behave, you can't help thinking about them as bloody crusaders." Malleus clearly wanted to have mutually exclusive path and cu
I've noticed that many times. May be it is just the way th AI is managing his economy (probably very different from a Human). The drengins probably add a high spending rate and/or buying policy until they crossed the -500$ barrier. At that point, they change to a 0% spending. Moving from -800 to +2000 is not that strange during end game But, I could be wrong, of course ~SDC~
2): Improve the random map generator so each player is gauranteed to have some resources nearby This is the solution. My main problem is the randomness of ressources positions ~SDC~
Don't you love the thrill you experience when you discover that you direct neibour are the Drengin. This thread shows that most of the people react differently with the Drengin I thinks it is great. ~SDC~
Za H: Your Defense pact is a very good idea Phaedyme: I don't get your point. AFAIK, you do not need to be at war with an empire to have the "Make peace with..." proposal in your Diplomacy screen. if you want an empire to make peace with your ally, just declare war if you think it is necessary to force it do to so ~SDC~
Seeing how well friendly AI helps you (undercover) when you are at war, what is the point of being allied. Pros: - Most of the time, your ally will join the war with you - can be your last chance in a dear situation Cons: - you are dragged into wars you do not want (when it is so easy to declare WHEN you want) I use to avoid entering into alliances unless I want to speed up the endgame and achieve Alliance victory. What do you think ? ~SDC~
Sure. As long as it is an option... But, if I had to choose on what Stardock has to focus, it would definitely be at the bottom of my whishlist. ~SDC~
I agree with almost everything you wrote. Some comments though: - Scouting is very important. Especially to detect resources close to you home systems (easier to defend) - In huge-gigantic galaxies, with no direct neighbours, I often try to reach Battleaxe and do not build defenders. 1 or 2 are usually enough. - As the AI tends to attack the closest System/starbase, it is not (currently) worth defending all your systems. You can focus on shock point (in Huge/Gigantic only of cour
Not very realistic IMHO. I think the way it is opens more strategic options. And, very soon, it will be a challenge between the top players. and you will see threads like "I won against genius AI with only one star system stuck in the corner" ~SDC~
To achieve technological leadership, I think that it is best to choose ... the Federalist. It is always better to have a healthy economy than to be poor scientist. Not only because you can switch to war time economy when needed but also because the Research is by far the most expensive activity. Why? Because there is no Science boosting starbase module ! You can always bosst your military and social production with planet base improvement + Mining/Economic starbase bonus giving a lo
Solitair, "I've just given up submitting games. It's depressing when they just don't reflect how hard the game was to win." Nooo ! You can't do this Captain ! If not for you, do it for the Empire ! :sniff!: ~SDC~
Maybe it is because the AI is very good at everything except Combat. So Brad made them compensate by choosing a Hit Point bonus ? ~SDC~
Not much of a change at Intelligent level. The Yor kept throwings tons of Ranger/Dreadnough then avatar at my closest starbase. I was killing 4-5 during my turn and he was sacrificing 4-5 more during his turn. Then, when his Military rating dropped below mine, he asked/was keen to accept war paying the high price. Same thing for the Altarians on an other front. So I just had to defend (heavily I admit) 2 hot spots, and I was able to turtle until I reached a technology victory (Gi
Good idea: Religion is strangely missing from the game. Some suggestions: May be you can start the branch earlier to let people role playing crusaders from the start. I understand why you chose to associate Euchumenic behavior with Good and Crusade to Evil (there is no other way to create mutually exclusive branches) but seeing how the "Saintly" Altarians usually behave, you can't help thinking about them as bloody crusaders. May you could also create a new type of ship: the "Suicide
You are wright. The number in the crosshair represents the number of YOUR ships in auto pilot to that destination. (Very usefull to create a string of "Trade Starbases" along your trade route) But AFAIK there is no way to know the number of alien ships targeting a spot
Thanks. I was (mistakenly ?) thinking that my survey ship would be able to attack.
Tiny Galaxy. I just have a Survey Ship and a transport. The planet has only 2 colony ship orbiting. Sending either of my ships has no effect. And I see no option to declare xar in the diplomacy screen.... Hmmm...I must have missed something obvious. Help :sniff!:
