Just, for what it's worth, if you're playing singleplayer, you can always adjust the gamespeed lower, if you're finding it overwhelming (Or faster if you're running out of time to finish a match).
Hi Guys Im thinking about getting ashes but have some questions. Generally Im more of a 4x guy as opposed to RTS. However I did enjoy statecraft back. I stopped playing Star craft because the realiance on build orders and actions per minute. I read in some reviews that Ashes is a bit more macto and not so focused on actions per minute would that be accutate?
It is accurate. As
I haven't tried the newest update, but balance-wise, I had thought Ashes was in a good place already. I'm just excited for the new stuff - more units, more factions, more mods, etc. Looking forward to the future!
They were changed, but you should still be able to build with them. On the bottom of the screen, towards the middle, you should see three coloured tabs: Yellow, Blue and Red. I believe you need to click the yellow one to build.
So instead of one "big release" it's going to be two smaller ones? Anyways, the new Frigates look cool.
PHC could also have a final-tier building that takes any potentially wasted resources (Positive income of Metal or Radioactives while you're already at cap) at provides bonus Quanta instead.
Agreed with everything in the mod list, and various points across the main list, but the absolute biggest thing you mentioned to me was your very first point: Give Teammates control over a region. I understand that allied "links" allow your own chain to remain uninterrupted. But I've had AI allies rush and scoop up Radioactive nodes I've been fighting tooth and nail for, which is frustrating as all hell.
Yeah, as MindlessMe said, you can't reinforce off the Frigates (Without just manually adding in units).
Ok, but then why can't oneshot my teammate's Blossom launcher ? Only my Constable ?
Because in your teammate's case, you're likely seeing things just slightly delayed. But in your own case, you're experiencing the actual effects of the lag. As in, that Punisher already killed your launcher, but you didn't notice it until all the damage happened (Which appeared to be one really strong shot).
This has been a damn good year for Ashes. Merry Christmas everyone!
(vs Normal AI) (And it was an exercise in futility anyway--the region was one of the linking ones without resources of it's own and I owned all the downstream regions it linked to. The AI shouldn't waste orbitals on defending a region that isn't currently useful.)
I think from the AI's perspective (And frankly, even mine more often than not), it's better to do the fighting in a region where collateral damage is irrelevant, than to l
Navy could still have its niche carved out, certainly. Water could be used to provide "sneak-around" territory for amphibious units, could be used to provide mobile fire support from the sea. Besides that, nothing to say the game couldn't add more "non-hovering" units, or bias the third race to be completely non-hovering. From where Ashes is now, it would take quite a bit of rework to remove hovering from most of the uni
I believe I speak for many that play the story first and use the knowledge gained before playing online. There was even a statistic posted some time ago about how few players actually venture into VS online.
Yeah, over 95% of players had never even touched the multiplayer button, there was simply no interest in doing so. (Source: https://forums.ashesofthesing
For what it's worth, I also find Orbitals really annoying, but there's an option to turn them down (Disables activated abilities) or off completely (Disables everything, including upgrades). Now, this will negatively impact Substrate players slightly (As they become unable to reinforce away from the base), but it solves the "orbital spam" instantly. Enjoy the game!
Don't wait too long to start revealing stuff about the DLC/expansion. Nothing worse than getting teased with something then getting radio silence for months on end ( Cough cough Battlefleet Gothic cough).
Agreed, I hated Leo the first time around. One trick I found was to leave my Harbingers outside my base while I built up a new army of them. That way they could contribute to base defense while I gathered enough.
Well, jjandrah, Kryo, myself and even GeneralsGentleman (Who works for Stardock) have all said we haven't seen the issue on an unmodded game (And I routinely have matches go for hours). As for the numbers being a potential issue, we know that is a possibility too ( http://steamcommunity.com/app/507490/discussions/0/3182216552780753506/ ). At this point, you seem hellbent on there being an issue here, s
Substrate Healer (Medic Equivalent). Agree about the AA Dreadnought. Stealth Field unit (Hides units from Radar). Or on that same note, stealth unit. False Flag unit (Generates fake Radar signatures to make artillery waste its shots). Sniper units (Long range, high damage, exceedingly low rate of fire and delicate). EMP/Cryo units (Stuns or slows enemy units respectively, including their rate of fire). Tier 2 PHC Healer (Increased health, healin
It would be the low hanging fruit of possibilities in my opinion to add the classic science fiction bug swarm race. I defiantly feel like they could go for something a little more original then that. Something more subversive and parasitic as has been said. Something that can interact with Turinium in a bad way to pose a threat even to the more entrenched members of the SS or PHC. That said, love craft kinds of enemies a

A few things: Capacitors mixed in to an army eventually hit a point of clearly diminishing returns. At a certain point, your army will have sufficient energy to rapidly take down a large chunk of an enemy's army per battle. Once that point has been hit, you're better off fielding more offensive units rather than any more capacitors. Caregivers are essential in any protracted engagement. Keeping your troops alive away from y
