c242: All working fine here now after reinstalling XP and 2K. Must have been some sort of conflict with something else here.

c242: I had exactly these problems on 2K and XP. Also WindowFX caused Explorer to crash and never started with these drivers. I am currently reformatting my hard disk and reinstalling XP to make sure it's not just my hard disk (which reported SMART errors earlier this week) which is affecting it. Your report makes me sceptical though. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddl
That is for plugins which used the old style interface and should not be used if a new plugin provides the same functions. If you need to use one of these then create an object while holding Ctrl down. This will force an old style config dialog.
Hey! Stop apologising and get back to making an OB skin. Seriously though it takes a big man to apologise. Not saying you're fat or anything. erm... /me looks for a shovel to get himself out of this hole /me only sees a hammer and decides to knock himself out instead. CLONK!!!! ......... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmi
Will do as soon as I ok it with the person I was advising and clean up the logs a lot to protect the innocent.
Koasati: I have an IRC log of when I talked someone through step by step in creating a brand new OB skin (about 3-4 months ago). If you want it let me know and providing they don't mind I'll send it to you. Alternatively I will try and chop it up and make a tutorial. I tend to use notepad a fair bit when creating a brand new one but I think there is some advice regarding skinstudio too. Let me know whatever. <img sr
Actually there are some under free which are surprisingly... free (including hooge as mentioned earlier)
If the original author cannot be found it should not be posted. Look at how many times we have told StyleXP people off for doing exactly that. I am sure APB will do the right thing. It would be a real shame if it doesn't get posted but a variant using original graphics could be created instead. It's a nice looking skin. I hope that she manages to get permission. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb
What reasons were given for it being rejected?
/me stifles an urge to remind voo of a time when he couldn't get enough of "Telly Tubbie land" and everything had to be Luna.
Erm. Frogboy isn't Dangeruss. He's Frogboy or Draginol. Russ is Dangeruss.
Things are free until they get popular. As soon as they get popular then someone has to pay. Skinning previously was 'free' due to the fact that it did not suck up anywhere near as much bandwidth as it does today. Just look at how many downloads a single skin would get in the days of skinz. Also skins back then were much less complex and hence not as large. WB skinned less so therefore there were less images and cnsequently less space being used up. More people had 56k modems so skins
I'm interested to hear which sections? It has been stated many times that Stardock is losing more than it is gaining to this site. How is people sucking up all your bandwidth day and night (many of whom are not customers, and are not likely to pay anyway) such a benefit? It may just about break even but it certainly isn't a cash cow. If there is not some type of restriction you get freeloaders coming in and leeching the entire library. This was happening and is part of what
mgorbach : Also, someone elses argument was that all people who like skinning should contribute, that would be nice but not everyone are artists! Contributing includes purchasing the programs you are downloading skins for. You mention that you are an OD subscriber so therefore you already have unlimited downloads anyway. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle
You just don't get it do you? YOU ARE NOT PAYING FOR CONTENT!!!!! Subscriptions are providing a way for Wincusto to keep running. You mention the fact that skinz would rather die than take revenue. When it died it was owned by e-front who ran it into the ground and didn't keep their promises. It's not like the admins decided 'Hey we're gonna have to charge soon. Let's just pull the site." It was that they weren't being paid for the work they were doing. It also had numero
The long and short of it is that the site is free for people who contribute. It is not free for those who just want to freeload off other peoples hard work.
Sites cannot survive without some kind of funding. It's a fact of life. Stardock choose not to make you/me and all the OD subscribers subsidise freeloaders. I see nothing wrong with that. The money from wincusto subscriptions does not go into Stardocks pockets but is ploughed back into making this site faster and better. It is precisely for this reason that Wincustomize doesn't have adverts, because the revenue from subscribers means they don't have to use them. Add to this the fact that t
I usually upgrade in small ways every year just swapping out a hard disk, gfx card etc) and then a big upgrade (swap machine usually) when necessity demands it. My old PC's tend to go to my parents. They are currently running on a P100 (upgraded from 486 33) with 2 1GB hard disks (saved from being thrown out at work) quite happily. I would have been perfectly happy on my P3500 with 768MB on a Radeon 8500 but the mobo and CPU decided to die on me. I tried to just get another P3 to re
/me looks at this thread and wonders where Buzz and DaWebMassa are. /me throws a fig for old time sake and reminisces about when times were good and fig fights were common. ============---------------------o

It will not support Version 3 as yet. It will control whichever you have open out of SDPlayer, Winamp 2 or CoolPlayer. I believe MadIce is looking into adding Winamp 3 support. He is the creator of the DXPlayer plugin and also the SDPlayer itself which in my opinion is a great media player. It's not just a music player but a true media player and has support for plugins to control almost every aspect via objects using the DXPlayer plugin. I have heard rumours that there is a plugin
No problem. Always happy to help.
Personally I don't like having multiple categories. I can see how some people would though. Maybe there is a way to have both. Maybe those who liked categories could choose to see posts split into categories and those who don't could choose to see it as it is now. Those posting when not displaying categories would have to choose a category at the time of posting in this scenario. Dunno. Just throwing ideas around. <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?Cmd=full&New
Tried to email you but the email address I replied to returned the email. anyway the problem is caused by the screensaver button. It has an incorrect painting method of a frame shape change set to cut from border. Change that to default (no shape change) and all should be fine again. Sorry it took so long to reply.
