Why don't the admins just lock these threads about requests and wallpaper rejection gripes immediately. The sticky explains everything. This is just a waste of bandwidth.

The question is,"Where did you get the serial then?" But I know you won't answer that question. Because if you got it from Stardock then you were sent the link to the website. Hmm. Okay, guilty until proven innocent.
If its true then post the link webgizmos.
You have asked a lot of detailed questions that I think might be better answered at the DesktopX newsgroup. As far as the weather object, I suggest you contact the author of that object. For the icon problem, I suggest that you right click your desktop, without DesktopX running, and remove the checks for aligning the icons to the grid and remove auto arrange too. It is Windows that is rearranging your desktop because you have these checks in place. I use DesktopX and I have none of the problems
Sure, BootXP works fine if you want to hack your system files. Then, when you try to remove it, good luck restoring your system properly.
I've held a couple of those. lol.
Okay. Here's what you have to do. Open any explorer window, such my computer etc. At the top you will see tools. Go to folder options, then file types. Find the file type(extension) that you assigned to a certain program, highlight it and p-ress advanced, highlight the open s-election and c-lick edit. Now in the next window it will say, what program performs the action. Highlight that program, and press the backspace button to remove it. The association is now neutral again. [Message Edited]
Jafo, I don't want to get into it with you. Our initial interaction was not very nice, and that has long since passed with much appreciation of the way you have since treated me in the community here. But, if you remember, I resubmitted the skin, after I fixed the windowblind error, and you verified that the error was fixed. I am sorry if I wasted your time. But, to avoid further drama and distractions to the competition and the community, and to avoid the certain flames as have already
Your problem makes no sense Optimissed. Because you say the other logons work. You must be doing something wrong. Or maybe there is some strange registry problem with the program for some reason. Try this. I am assuming that you are using winzip with this suggestion. Change the logonxp extension to zip. Then unzip it. The name of the logon should be on the folder. Inside the folder should be the logon files. Take that folder and move it to the same directory where the 3 existing logon theme fold
Oh yeah, and thanks for finally posting my skin at the GUI with no mention in the windowblind library submissions, and for posting it halfway down the new submissions list with no windowblind icon. Talk about fair play. sheesh. Now, how can I d-elete it from the competition? There is no d-elete button at WC or GUI, only a update button. Thank you. [Message Edited] [Message Edited]
Note particularly the skin submission that crashed my shell.... [both Explorer and LiteSTEP]....needless to say such 'goofs' have to be weeded out... No offense Jafo, but you know that the problem mentioned above is a bug in windowblinds. This is not my fault. No one recognized that bug. The bug occurs when windowblinds creates a extra uis file w
Yeah, I'm starting to believe this idea about the "Big Guns". It seems that a small time artist who does a decent skin can't even get his posted. And they say that they want originality. Ha. Or maybe they just want someone to complain about it so that they look like an a#$. Okay, well you got it. Happy now?
If you have your browser set not to accept cookies, you might have trouble with the site as it uses cookies. I have no problem accessing the libraries. Or maybe your firewall is blocking cookies.
One word, Stardock.
There is no easy answer LoneWolf. For Windowblinds the assembly program is Skin Studio. For Icons you need a Icon creating program(IconWorkshop,IconXP, Microangelo). You also need a program such as PaintShop Pro or Photoshop. Then there are the 3D programs like terragen for making wallpapers. You have to learn these programs, get tutorials, start ripping skins apart and see how its done. Then, just let your creative juices flow. Or you can take classes on computer graphics design. I hope this gi
In my wild youth, I picked up a few hitchhikers on the freeway. I had a flashy red convertible sports car. But, they never gave me any trouble. Probably because I was more crazy than they were at the time. Needless to say, the world has become more crazy and I have mellowed considerably. So, I don't do that anymore.
Then you have a conflict with logon studio somewhere on your system because this is the way Logon Studio works. My next question would be, does the program work with the default Logons? You also said that you have used Logons before. Does this mean that you have used other Logon Programs? Did you use these other Logon Programs on the same system that you are using now? What operating system are you using now?
The skin was called Brushed Panther Beta. It was just a darker version of Brushed Panther by xero. The author even admitted it in his comments. Oh well, RIP and learn I guess.
Assumption: I assume all your default logons work fine and you can switch and load them. Solution: Okay, here's what I think is happening. It happens to me all the time. Here's how I figured it out. Sometimes, Logon Studio will not actually install the logon. It will just move the entire logon file to the directory, still zipped. Which will do nothing to install the logon. Solution: a) Open Logon Studio and click the load button. Use this button to browse to your .logonxp file. You might act
This solved my problem which was basically the same. Sometimes windowblinds creates multiple uis files when creating subskins. So, it depends on which uis file is used to apply the skin. If the skin uses a subskin uis file to apply the main skin, then a problem such as yours will occur. Of course, there should only be one uis file. Open your directory and check to see if you have uis files associated with your subskins. If you do, D-elete them. [Message Edited]
Thanks Everyone.
Oh no, you didn't. Thanks Wulfie.
I suggest that you go to your computer retail store for NIS Professional. But a link about it is below and you can find out more info and its program functions. I think this program is the best online security. You can probably get better prices at your retail computer store.http://www.symantecstore.com/dr/sat3/ec_MAIN.Entry10?V1=30010186&SP=10024&PN=28&xid=27674&DSP=&CUR=840&PGRP=0&CACHE_ID=0
It seems that the file is related to a program called PCAnywhere. I have Norton AV installed and I don't have that file. It seems that this program can corrupt your fast user switching ability. I found the following link on the subject. It might help. http://computing.net/windowsxp/wwwboard/forum/11909.html There is also some other discussion that mention that the file could be changed into a worm. I would run Spybot, and try uninstalling PCAnywhere if you don't use it. I don't know
