All my Object Desktop programs tried to obtain access to the internet. DesktopX, Windowblinds(multiple dll's and .exe files), Object Dock, etc.. Even certain skins had dll's in them which wanted to connect. Maybe this is for the statistical information that sig101 mentioned. And it seems that almost every program and dll wants to piggyback my internet connection. It's strange and it makes me wonder??

I thought this would be an interesting, non-political thread. I must say mine is probably Forsaken. Probably because I got terribly dizzy when I first played it. And, I love it when I frag someone who is talking trash. 1. Forsaken 2. Quake III Arena 3. System Shock II 4. Half Life 5. Tomb Raider (Laura brings back memories, or is that Lara? lol)

Interesting subject that you proposed there, Neophil78. Can you tell me why PaintShop Pro would need to communicate? My old Version of Object Dock would crash if it didn't have full internet access. I stopped using it. This version has a weather dock that obviously needs it. But, I wonder??? Windows Update??? I wonder. Am I paranoid. I wonder?

There are many programs that communicate through the internet for whatever reason. Paint Shop tried to do it. Winzip tried to do it. I have a firewall and I just set rules to block unneccessary communication. Is it surprising that a vendor would want to know who has their program installed? And maybe to compare that number to the actual number of legitimate purchases. What is surprising is the sort of programs that want to communicate over the internet. IOIOIOI ? What was that? My ISP? I agree with you , Leo. I "cut my nose"(or something like that) a while ago, and now I look like MJ. lol. The only problem was that it was Jafo who was closely pursuing me and not Karmagirl. Consider yourself lucky.

LA Werewolf, I agree with you. If someone has purchased the programs and have that status, they have invested their money in this site and programs. I believe they should be able to rate and view skins. But, I guess a few people have spoiled it for the whole. I don't agree that it is fair to punish everyone for the abuse done by a few. But, this site is really popular and a lot of different people with different personalities visit it, and some with personal problems and cruel

You may try running a DSL speed test if your download speed is concerning you. Try have a lot of programs and tests to optimize your connection and do things like check for line noise. But, if you are using a dial up connection its basically useless.

I'm sure the administrators appreciate your apology and your concern. But Dude, you are blowing a Cookie out of proportion. Look dude, if a site wanted to promote itself on Wincustomize by the use of cookies, I would have no problem with it. Many firewalls will block cookies that you don't like. And just because a advertiser used a harmless tracking cookie doesn't mean they are bad either. Just because Spybot says its Spyware, doesn't mean its etched in stone. Meaning, that just because Spyb

And Also DUDE, think about it. If Wincustomize or Stardock wanted spyware on your system, it would be easy for them to place it there when you install their programs. So answer me this? Did Spybot detect any spyware from Windowblinds? Nope. CursorXP? Nope. DesktopX? Nope. Winstyles? Nope. All these programs from someone you claim is delivering spyware, and no spyware is found from their programs? Does that make sense to you or does it suggest that they aren't delivering spyware. Now, if you run

Also, Since you don't seem to know a lot about computer stuff, I would grab a copy of Spybot Search and Destroy. It could be a resource problem caused by spyware or a virus. What virus scanner do you use? There a millions of things that could be causing your problem. All you can do is track down the possible culprits, one by one.

It sounds to me like it could be a visual problem, right? 1. I would first visit WindowsUpdate to make sure you have all the files for DirectX by installing the latest DirectX drivers, and check for any Visual Basic Drivers that it recommends. Also, try to visit your video Cards Manufacturer to make sure you have the latest video drivers. What is your video card or who made your computer? At least get the files from Windows Update. 2. One of the best way to start troubleshooting vi

It is clear that the cookie was a ad cookie. It did not come from the site directly. If it did, it would be a Wincustomize Cookie, and Spybot would have indicated that it was spyware which obviously it did not. Dude, you need to gain knowledge on internet usage. I could go on explaining cookies to you but, I'm not a Internet teacher. Try to take Internet 101 in school. Sheesh. (Talk about people crying Wolf when there is no Wolf)(Try not to bend the spoon only realize there is no spoon)

Dude, you don't know what you are talking about. I use Spybot too, so you are using nothing all that new. Before you come to this site accusing people of cruel adverse things get your facts straight and gather some internet knowledge. Cookies are not Spyware. Almost every site uses them. If Spybot didn't like the cookie that came from this site then it flashed a notice telling you that it was a tracking cookie. It was not Spyware such as a program being placed on your computer. All you have to d
