I don't see much point of all the articles analysin pre-alpha products as it where the real deal, even though they do include "I know it's not released yet". In the same way I promptly browse on the moment I see someone start of "This OS is better than that OS...". Too many opinions, IMO.

hmm... I had a look at it. I noted that after DesktopX is done reading the nessesary files and registry keys for the startup it kept opening, querying and closing keys related to the desktop wallpaper as well as opening, closing and reading information from the wallpaper file it self. (And I have not set any wallpaper in my current DX theme.) It seems a bit odd. I might try different themes and objects and see if there is any difference.
Hmm... Do you know if Linspire use KDE or GNOME? Can you switch between them?

You might need to rebuild the icon chache. I think you can do that with the free TweakUI tool from Microsoft's PowerToys. Try that or search for utilities that can rebuild icon caches.

I want the whole thing to be 1 big DX object(s), rather than an integral part of the DX desktop. Export your "Media Center" as a widget. Then it will run independently from your DX theme.

If the font's are too small for you, you can change that from the Appearance tab in the Display Properties Window. If you find that the items them self are too small you can go to the Setting tab and click the advanced button. You'll then be presented with another window and user the General tab there you can change the DPI of your monitor. I recommend trying to adjust the font size first.
Can you customize the look of your building? Make it translusent? I would expect nothing less from the Stardock HQ...

hm... odd. I tried the code you had there and I get the same results. I also tried a pushbutton control and same thing happends there. The OnClick even triggers in VB but not JS. I think this might be a bug in the DX script implementation. I think you should report this to the developer.

Thanks for the piece of information Daiwa. I tried it and it worked just fine. All thought I noticed that the font sizes in that section and the ones in the rest if the skin where treated differently. In FF the text becae really big. But the solution was to duplicate the font and reduse the text size of the new font. -cheers!

Hummings aren't all that bad, all though you're right in beeing suspicious of new humms. Something a friend of mine should have been before the humming suddenly changed to a "Pang! Rattattattattatta Clonk Rattattattatta Ping Bonk Rattattattattattatta". I was there when i happend and it really is one of the last things you want to hear comming form your computer except for perhaps "Pop! Fszzzzzzh...." followed by a tiny stream of smoke.
