whine, whine, whine . . . it's a shame that people can't just keep their mouths shut if they have complaints. If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. If you don't want to spend the money, trying to voice your opinion about the measly $15 (or even $20) that it costs for the program isn't going to change anything. Brad, and the gang at Stardock, have to make a living. Do I like spending money to sup up my computer. Not necessarily. But I will gladly spend it if it'

Frogboy, Long live you and the other masterminds behind your work. I've been an Object Desktop subscriber for 1 and 1/2 years and my only regret was that I didn't purchase the subscription earlier. I see the Visual Styles at DeviantArt and then check out the Windowblinds skins both here and there. IMO, there is no question that Windowblinds rules the market (in a general sense of course there is some very nice Visual styles that are around if you look for them). Beyond that, your continu

Brad, I enjoy reading the blogs. It's exciting to get the skinny on what's up and coming . . . sort of like the giddy feeling I get when I read a Star Wars Episode III spoiler! . . . I'm definitely looking forward to the changes for Object Desktop . . . and, for whatever my opinion is worth (taking for granted you are reading this <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/smile.gif" border=0 ALIG

Ok . . . here are my thoughts. There were 4 authors that, IMO, put out the best skins for this competition. Surprisingly each of those 4 authors put out more than one skin that, again IMO, could win this event of the best overall Windowblinds skin. Everything by Treetog (Antares, Mini OS, Fly OS, Thunderstorm), Gabriel (FM, G-pod, Lithium OS), danilloOC (Cyrix WB, Sektor, neOS), and bOse (opulence & Vector-cell) was amazing. I hope that the best skin comes from one of these 12 skins. My ord

Premium suites are definitely well-worth the money. Especially when they are so complete like ToonXP and Universe Metal 2004. I say to Pixtudio & Skinplant: "Keep going" and keep up the good work . . . let's not forget to mention Tim Dagger (Essorant) for his premium suites, which are also well-worth it!

After reading the reviews that have come before me, I am quite happy that I spend the time and the money that I do to support Stardock and Wincustomize. Brad, your frustration is warranted and completely understandable. And others of us, like those who wrote reviews before me, feel the same way. Please know that you have the support of this community. And I agree with you that it is a little bit more "mature" here. I think all of us were shocked by some of the winners. But it literally gai

I have been totally impressed with the organization and process of this competition. I liked the fact that there weren't too many judges . . . a whole lot less confusion!!! The only thing I have to poo-poo about is that I would have LOVED to see the judges submissions . . . of course I understand that wouldn't work so well when you'd be judging your own work against someone else! :) Great job and I can't wait until the next one. Maybe by then I'll be able to compete! Blessings in the highes

Congratulations to all the winners. I must say, however, that a couple of things shocked me . . . I'm not going to say what because my opinion isn't worth much . . . on top of that, I've never made a skin before in my life! :) That being said, I think everyone who won put out a great skin. Good work!

As I took another look at the different skins in this category I had to ask myself the question - would this skin really look good for an operating system? There were a lot of skins that were incredible skins but I don't think that they would be a great skin for an operating system. Of course, a lot of this is completely to the opinion of the judges. But here's my 5 favorites: Gold - Pirate OS Silver - Lithium Bronze - Blanco 4th - Airlock 5th - Limbic Good job everybody!

Gold - Resurgence Silver - EMP2 Bronze - Woo-hoo-fer 4th place - Cardium II The thing I liked about my choices for the top 4 was that they didn't just say that they were power-user skins but lack any special added features. Skins like EMP2 and Resurgence had a whole lot of goodies that I think really define this category. Good luck to all!

Congrats to all the winners. I like seeing how the judges view things because it causes me to go back and try and see what the experts see. Can't wait for the video presentation of the winners. Again, congrats!

I think choosing 1, 2, & 3 in this category is particularly difficult. I'm not exactly sure what separates one of these from another but I did wind up with 5 skins that I thought were absolutely awesome in their attempt to capture a certain thematic element. Based on how I feel they should be awarded medals, they are: 1. Rising Dragon 2. Thunderstorm 3. A toss up between Alloy Bezel and Cyrix 5. G-pod

The thing I liked about this category was the ability to really consider how much I would use all of the different winamp skins submitted. In this competition there have been some really creative and complex skins submitted - however, they are difficult to work with (at times) and can be so complex that they aren't really all that user-friendly. That being said, I was looking forward this category where I could take a look at the individual skins and evaluate how user-friendly and practical th
