Hiya! It would be very helpful to get one of those "broken" save file show casing your issue. Can you share it with us over on the GC4 discord ?
Draver
Hiya Reacce, we actually had a conversation over on that Steam thread if you want to go check it out.
Yeah I actually made a mod, BugFix_UP_Voyagers, found in the Bundle of Mods at https://www.galciv4.com/mods/manager that fixes this issue. So while we wait for a fix to the base game, it's an option for your next game while playing a civ that uses the Voyager Trait or is affected by this issue. It'll only work on a new game though; same as if it makes it into a patch actually.
Yeah I gotcha now. I actually made a mod, BugFix_UP_Voyagers, found in the Bundle of Mods at https://www.galciv4.com/mods/manager that fixes this issue. I don't know, it's possible they were not meant to be duplicated, but some player do like the extra bonus, etc. Either way, it's been reported a lot and the devs are aware ;)
Yeah the duplicate advisor are intended. As for the starting sector is slightly random and also depends on the distance to other civ you choose.
Thank you for sharing these, I've forwarded them along. The first one may explains why some peoples have been reporting seeing the same rewards a lot. The more survey ships you got going the worst it probably gets as well.
I presume you updated your GPU drivers when you swapped GPUs ?
Could you please provide a save file show casing your issue. You can post it over on discord in gc4-commons with a small explanation of your issue. We'll be able to load it on our end and better understand what you're seeing. For example when you says, "any access to the ability the topic covered" and "you never get the button that allows you to do the task", what exactly do you mean ?
I'm not sure I follow what you're saying. From my own testing, I do not see any issue with unlocking the various game functionality when researching technologies that do so. Make sure to validate your files with Steam and see if this still happens in a brand new game.
Really glad you managed to fixed it! Some things are mysterious indeed.
You're welcome.
About the cog wheel, you can also just right click the GCV4 tile and click properties, that'll open the settings for the game. Is virtual memory enabled in Windows 10 ? I presume your D drive is an SSD ? If not, what happen if you install the game on one of your SSD ?
Thank you for trying this out. Yeah it's a good idea to restart your PC after running both commands. Make sure your Windows is up to date as well. You're on Windows 11 I presume ? For the insider build, in Steam, if you click the cog wheel (manage) at the top right, then select properties and go to the Game Versions & Betas and switch to Insiders, that should put you on the latest build. Also, I presume that you are not using any mods ? Also, when reinstalling, hav
Hard to say what may be causing this all of a sudden. Was your drivers updated between now and before it started crashing ? Else you could try these baseline troubleshooting commands. In an Elevated Command Prompt (in run, type cmd and press ctrl-shift-enter), do these commands one after the other: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth sfc /scannow Else switch to the Insider build on Steam, see if that helps.
You can only build one of each. If you conquer worlds from other civs, you can sometimes find more from them. Maybe that's where the extra ones come from ?
Hiya! To answer your questions, the Gambler trait only applies to the colony where the leader is posted as a governor. As for an obsolete key shortcut I do not see any in the options or in game, so I don't think that's in!
Thx for that! Yeah I can see it loading your game. Not sure what's causing this, but I'll pass it along.
Thanks Draver. Can you please explain what a community team is and its relationship to Stardock? I thought by posting here Stardock would gather player bug reports directly for resolution in upcoming releases?
As mentioned by gypsy the "community team" is the team of people that interact directly with the player base in order to gather feedback and help players with the various issues they run into. Depending on the nature of the inte
Thank you for this bug report. I'll make sure the community team is made aware!
That is indeed pretty bad. Do you have a save game to share on discord show casing this ? Would make it much easier to diagnose.
That is strange indeed! Just glad you got it fixed :)
GC3 was patched at the same time as GC4 was at the end of January. You have Crusade right ?
A fix was just pushed that hopefully will be fix this issue. Please let us know if it works for you now!
