Ahh so it's just a general lowering of quality of their whole network, as opposed to specific results. That makes sense. Perhaps some sort of notification would be nice, so it feels like it's doing something? "You have lowered the morale of Planet X by 5 this month", etc. Also, using Espionage for spying hasn't really ever revealed anything useful. I perused the info that I got on a High success, and none of it was anything I could really use. Just seems like Espionage overal

I just spent a fairly long game as the Mercantile Party, trying to use Destablize Espionage. At a +%60 to espionage, and the slider all the way on for at least 1 opponent during the entire game, not once did I see any return on it. At ~50-60 credits a month, it seems like nothing more than a way to throw away money. Is the result of Destablize Espionage 'under the hood' so we can't see it? Or is it just not working?

Someone mentioned earlier that we should have a few turn's notice about what the next vote will be. I wholehartedly agree! I'm playing a game right now where a vote came up to give a race a %50 influence bonus. Had I had an opportunity to look at the map, consider my trade routes, check my diplomatic status, etc, I would have had the chance to vote for one of my allies. I currently don't own a majority vote in the senate, so voting for myself wouldn't do much good. Since I had to make an uninfor

I'd love to see a cornucopia of options to offer the other races. Right now the selections available in the Diplomacy screen are rather scarce. Give me quantity! I barely use this screen and I feel like it should be the most important one in the game, considering the political focus.

PC gaming isn't going downhill at all, that rumour/theory has been going around every year for the past 5 years. (according to PC Gamer anyway) This last year saw a great number of excellent titles.

Well GalCiv is pretty darn spiffy, granted. But... Moo3 has much better graphics, many more races, much more customizability, an excellent license and history, and a well-known publisher. I, for one, have already pre-paid and plan on obsessing over it for a while after release. Also, it's gonna be on the shelves on Feb 26th at the very latest, and this won't be out till March.

OK, that's a good point about changing the routes Lucky Jack. :) I DO think that you should get a popup that says "Where would you like this trade route to originate?". That way I can have systems A, B & C all make freighters, but have system A do all the trading.

Ahh I didn't know about the color of the text, that's helpful. Thanks :). What draws me to this game (mainly) is the non-combat aspects. Moo was all about war, and peace was just what happened between war. This seems like the kind of game where the diplomacy is absolutely key. I would like to see this more fleshed out.

A couple things I'd like to see... In the Research screen - Some encyclopedia functions would be nice. When I select a tech, it shows the benefits of that tech, but I really don't know what a lot of those are. If we could right-click them for more info, or if they linked to an info page for that tech, I could make more informed decisions. In the Diplomacy screen - Again, I need more knowledge and guidance here. Am I offering a horrible trade? Am I giving away the farm in the n

Which brings me to my question... I have 3 trade routes. Earth/Sol 4 are my best trading planets. They have Economic Capitol, trade goods, economic structures, etc. However, one of my other planets happen to have manufactured 2 of my 3 freighters. What I'd like to do is alter those 2 routes to they go to Sol instead. As it is now, I have to kill those routes (costing me 2 freighters), build 2 new routes (costing me time and resources), and then send those freighters back to the planets

Thank you folks! I managed to get off the ground (finally) and have a real civilization going now. New players, don't get discouraged at the beginning. Honestly, I was a little bummed that I couldn't get things goin on my first couple of tries and almost shrugged this game off. Now I'm really enjoying it and am glad I didn't.

I'm finding that I can't get past the first few years of the game without hitting $-500 and losing. I build colony ships & research trade asap, and by the time I'm able to build freighters, I've lost. What am I doing wrong? I followed the early-game walkthrough in the manual... Any tips for saving/making money in the early stage?
