#925 by Mr ^^Arkantos^^ - 11/2/2003 10:03:59 AM IF EVLUATION IS FACT then why humen have same 2 hands, 2 foot, one head and 2 eyez.......y they have not "evolved" into something else with 2 heads or wings or something like thisEVALUATION.........has it finished........or?????? Okay, I give in. Your mere existance conclusively disproves evolution

Perhaps this is best described through the dictionary definitions of the two words: mutation n. 1. The act or process of being altered or changed. 2. An alteration or change, as in nature, form, or quality. evolution n. 1. A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex or better form. 2. a) The process of developing. b) Gradual development.

To put things another way, evolution ocurrs through a process of constant mutation to adapt to new changes in the environment. Mutation is the process of changing and evolution is the process of mutation to deal with environmental changes. [Message Edited]

Harry Potter books are evil. Try working in a bookstore for a living and then tell me they're not. If one more person asks me if we have any first editions of the first book left, I think I'll put a hex on them. Damn you Harry, damn you! And... breathe...

I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to see Blair Witch, and at that time the hype machine was in overdrive. At the time I was living in the States, and I'd seen the TV 'documentary' about the 'real' events leading up to the creation of the movie out of the recovered videos. At that time, nobody doubted the movie was a true story. I also lived in a remote apartment complex in the middle of acres and acres of wild forest, so that didn't exactly help on the way home after watching the

I reverted to the use of the word 'Christian' because that is the primary religion that I have had such non-discussions with. To be honest, I don't even know the difference between the various types of Christian, and find the fact that the existance of different 'versions' of Christianity only compounds my belief that they are wrong. Surely if they know the absolute truth and there is no room for debate, then everyone would hold exactly the same beliefs. I'm also not referring to

Regardless of how stereotyped or offensive you find my comments BakerStreet, they are based entirely on my experience with both groups of people (I almost said 'sides' there, but apparently this thread has been 32 pages of folks agreeing with each other ). I have large numbers of friends who both believe and do not believe in a God, and they in turn have large numbers of similar friends to whom I have been i

You know... I started to read all that and after a while all I saw was 'blah blah blah'. That's exactly my point r3fr. Question an evolutionist's views and they'll more than likely show you a little proof and tell you it's the best answer we've yet to find. Question a creationist's views and they'll regurgitate the Bible and tell you you're wrong.

Sorry if that didn't make 100% sense, but I've had a long day. I would just like to add that it would be nice if certain people could lighten up and have a sense of humour about these things. Life's too short to be arguing about who's right, when in the end both could turn out to be wrong anyway.

While I agree that certain comments have been made which are a little inappropriate, some of which were intended as non-serious icebreakers by myself, I don't agree that the bias of this thread has been heavily on the side of those who don't believe in creation bashing other's beliefs. If anything, I've found that there are more religious people willing to condescend and dish out unwanted sympathy than there are non-religious people denying God outright. Here's how I see the differences

What I wonder though is how did Smith survive if for all intent and purposes he was absorbed by Neo? I just can't figure out how Smith was "reborn". Continuing the computer analogy, he was backed up. Just because Neo destroyed the current copy of the program running in the system doesn't mean he destroyed all copies. <img src="http://images.star

David Copperfield making the Statue of Liberty disappear! Penn driving an articulated truck over Teller! Roy getting bitten by a white tiger live on stage! Oh wait... that last one actually happened...

There's nothing to stop you downloading the icons and putting them together as an IconPackager theme yourself you know. Obviously you should use it for personal use only, and not redistribute the final file. Sometimes you'll get better results doing something yourself than asking someone else to do it for you.

Kona, how would it make you feel if everyone told you they felt sorry for you because of your beliefs? I'm guessing you wouldn't like it, so treat others in the same way you'd wish to be treated yourself. Those of us who don't believe in God don't need your pity. We need your understanding and acceptance that everyone has the individual right to make their own choices about their lives and the world they live in. To continue to say that you feel sorry for those of us who don't

Ah, young Jedi, have patience you must. To use a WindowBlinds skin, you must first have WindowBlinds installed on your system. Take a look at http://www.windowblinds.net for more information. Once you have it installed, you should be able to install a new skin by simply double-clicking on the file in Explorer.

I'm getting a real performance hit here too Styl. I'm on an Athlon 2400 XP with a Radeon 9700 Pro, so I was surprised just how much of a hit I take! It seems that when using magic pink in single pixels the painting engine has a lot of trouble, whereas when it's used in blocks or areas it has less of a problem. Have you tried using a TGA for the background? I haven't tried it here yet, because I'm stuck with Fireworks for the moment, so I'm not sure if you even can use one for that image.

*SPOILER ALERT* Has anyone watched the recent trailer for Revolutions? Check out the parts where Neo looks 'through' the real world to see an orange matrix-code-like underlying world. Now tell me the 'real world' isn't just another simulation... I've been saying this since the second movie first came out and I'll say it again: The 'humans' are, as Smith said in the first movie, a disease (or virus) and the agents are the cure (or anti-virus). Smith is infected by the virus (Neo
