In what way do you want Yahoo Messanger skinned chichigirl? So far as I can see, WindowBlinds skins it just the same as any other app once you remove the exclusion for the app from your list. So what specifically doesn't get skinned? You're obviously getting upset about something, but not telling us what it is.

The poll isn't working!
Oh, by the way, I'm having jacket potato with cheese, beans and mini sausages tonight. I hate Thursdays.
You mean like in 'The Crying Game' Elf?
You'll need permission from the author of the icons themselves.
With regard to the false claims made my TGTSoft though, I do agree with you completely Brad. I'm in no way likening the what they have done to your methods of bringing people to this site, as those comments were in response to another seperate issue raised in this thread. I've now read the interview in question all the way through for the first time, and although I agree totally with your comments on that interview, nobody likes to see one company bashing another's publicity. Unfortunat
Just to clarify the whole meta tags thing. I've been a commercial web designer for over two years now, and quite often I've been asked by a client to add the names of competing web sites or companies to the meta tags of their site to draw traffic to the site. It seems that Brad would have no problem with this, as the sole intention of meta tags is to draw traffic to the site by giving related words in his opinion. However, it's actually not legal to do this. As paxx quite rightly points out, Pep
Oh, and for the record, I do agree with you on your original point Brad about TGTSoft making false claims. However, I don't think the '100% compatible' thing is really the point you should be stepping on as the other claims are far more absurd.
Nicely side-stepped there Brad. I'll go with paxx on this one though and just keep quiet now I've had my say. And yes paxx, I think those judges should be shot too...
Some people don't have those neural pathways though craeonics.
Just an extra few words I missed out. I would have no problem with Stardock promoting WB skins as msstyles (after all, they do have MS support now) if the use of those skins didn't require a purchase of software to do so. WB skins should always be referred to as just that - WB skins. This would stop all the messages from people asking how they make their XP look like such and such a skin. At the moment, people are under the false impression when coming to this site for the first time th
Firstly, I think you misunderstood my comment paxx. This person contacted me and asked ME to make an msstyle version of my skin. He wasn't asking me for permission, but rather saying that WindowBlinds is an inferior product and that it was a shame that I didn't 'go the whole hog' and make an msstyle. It's that complete misunderstanding of WB that I took offense to. Secondly, I do have to agree with you slightly on the misleading nature of WinCustomize. I'm sorry Brad, but when the site
Steak pie.
I had someone send me a mail asking for one of my WB skins to be made into a skin 'for StylesXP'. I don't think my reply went down too well, but suffice to say I said a lot of the stuff Brad has said here. StylesXP doesn't do what it claims to do, and that's just wrong. They're not stretching the truth, they're just lying. And now they're charging for the 'program', they're basically lying for financial gain. There's a law against that.
It's sorted now...
Ok, I've changed to a .jpg file but I'm still having problems. Now when I click the upload button, it seems to be sending my file as the progress bar on the browser moves, but then it just stops and sits there saying 'Opening page upload2.asp'. It doesn't timeout, because I don't get an error message, but rather just sits there with the progress bar frozen until I click 'Back' or whatever. I even tried walking away and leaving it to do its business, and when I came back ten minutes later, it was
Ah... that'll explain it. lol I'll give it another go. Shouldn't you be able to upload gifs? Seems like rather a strange oversight...
I'm having problems uploading a CursorXP theme I've put together. I'm uploading the theme in a .zip file, together with a screenshot in .gif format. I get a message saying that I'm uploading a file with an invalid format! I've managed to upload it to other sites, such as DevArt and DeskMod, so I know the file's fine. Please help! The first couple of times I tried, I first got an error message saying my browser couldn't locate the page 'upload2.asp', and then a message telling me I didn'
that's why i include at least three different versions of each skin. if someone doesn't want the extra functionality of rollup and a.o.t, they can just use the 'simple' version of the skin. i guess in theory smart buttons are a good idea, but in my opinion until there are a lot more windowblinds plugins, there's really not much use for them other than as a curiosity.
i guess mostly i just don't include smartbutton support because, aside from URL shortcuts, i already include all the features like roll-ups and always-on-top as standard buttons. maybe one day when someone shows me the point of having the same URL shortcut on every single window, i might just start to use them...
i think we've discovered a slightly worrying trend here amongst skinners... brad... what ARE smartbuttons?
then consider it done...
