^ Irrelevant to main story fluff doesn't need to be "meaningful". You don't want to burden devs with it. Maybe you do if it's EA?... noooo..... Bioware?..... no, no, no...... Blizzard?..... naaaaahhh..... Bethesda?.......... f*ck no.
Yes, Hunam, I'm talking about your beloved Fallout IV, with its legendary weapons that "boost limb damage by 10%" or "deals 15% more damage to super mutants"!!!!!! Are we allo
Ok. Fallout 4 fun is over. Underground Undercover main storyline quest bugged out. Can't progress. On the shelf it goes until Badthesda fixes this shizz. Only 153 hours in...
You're insane for playing the boringest Fallout for 157 hours, and the most brilliant (NV) for 0 hours. :P Have you even played the originals?!

I truly, madly, deeply, do not want to see ANYTHING in the game that affects ANYTHING by percentages. Urgk. No thank you. Life doesn't work like that anyway. I don't want to see weapons that shoot 5% faster. I don't want shields with 10% higher capacity. I don't want a bountiful harvest season that gives you 12% more crop yields. It becomes meaningless. And is one of the most boring tropes in gaming. The Civilization games have become one big number crunching pit of despair fo

Going back to the original post... Can I just say? Correct me if it's already been brought up, I haven't read every reply in this massive thread... But holy shit. There's already a perfect solution to everyone's argument about the whole good ending vs. bad ending... It should include slides or short movies, each one showing RACE-SPECIFIC endings based on whether you helped or hindered them. A la ORIGINAL Fallout 1 & 2. Does no one remember those?!? They were some of the mo
oh huh starscape. I hadn't gotten to it yet, the graphics looked janky at a glance. But I think I picked it up in a bundle! I'll give it a shot!
Graphics are junky, definitely! I hate the art style of the people! Combat graphics are nothing to write home about. But there's something fun about it that scratched my itch!

I want to see DLC have a great story. What I really want is for you to uncover some artifact in the main game. Total mystery. No clue what it does. Never figure it out during the entire game. Can't uncode it or translate it, or whatever. And I want it to be in the ruins of some civilization who are gone without a trace. And the artifact, in the DLC, opens up or gets unlocked and sends you on a chase to find out what the hell happened, and how to avoid the same fate. DLC with a story and a

Love the new Mukay and the animation. I understand this is super pre-alpha. But I want to acknowledge one of Stardock's shortcomings that I need to see improved now - including with the Mukay. Conversation screens are, proverbially, where most of the meat of the game lies. And these need to look GOOD. These need to be LUSH. Intricate. Detailed to the max. Completely immersive. All the bells and whistles you could possibly come up with. If the majority of the game's story

" Planetary scouting got old fast, though. There needs to be more incentive or a way to bypass it completely once you're far enough into the game. 80 hours is a long time for a game of this low complexity. 20-30 should cover it. If it drags on too long, people will lose interest and quit before completing it ." Hey! Speak for yourself, mister! I loved the planetary scouting. Agreed you didn't need resources much, unlike in the beginning, and it becam

Also - Stardock does NOT need to worry about quantity of content so much that they put a bunch of filler fetch-quests! There's PLENTY of filler already built in, and that's a lot of the fun. The mechanics already include the good kind of filler! Planetary scouting, resource gathering, tons of combat - there's literally zero need for a "Bring me 10 tzo crystals" for whatever reason. You're already gathering tzo crystals for good reasons! On top of that, player mad
Eh, Mad Maxe's war camps may have had unique layouts, but you cleared them all in exactly the same way. Absolutely nothing new in them. And in Bethesda's defense YOU try making unique dungeons when you're using essentially the same engine for 13 years [e digicons]:P[/e] But I get your point. However, I feel like having optional fetch quests isn't necessarily a bad thing. Obviously have some sor

I think it should be called Star Control. Then, the naming scheme for the next several can be "Star Control - The ___ of ______". And each iteration after that could take on a new subtitle, avoiding ever using Star Control II. OR maybe StarControl.
So I played a bit of Rebel Galaxy last night. I was actually not that into the control scheme and it felt a bit flat in the plot from the get go. I guess I also should have done more research about if you can change the views, because I couldn't figure out how to change it from the closely following cam at that odd isometric angle. In any case, I took a break from it to play another game I hadn't tried before, a

First off, I want to make a post about Fallout IV and Rebel Galaxy. They had the same main, core problem for me. They both did away with ANY sort of interesting quests, and instead devolved into a shoot-fest for every single quest. And people won't understand if they never played the original Fallouts and maybe even New Vegas. But Fallout four didn't have one quest that involved for than "Go here and murder everything there" and that'd a goddamn shame. I played the he'll out o

It's really not the nature of a FedEx quest that's the problem - it's the implementation of it. You have to make it feel like it's not a fetch quest. If you think about it, there were tons of fetch quests in Star Control II! Fetching the pieces of the Ultronomicon for the Utwig? Fetching the Syreen's ship? Fetching the sun device for the Chmmr?? In essence, every one of these is a fetch quest, but NONE of them ask, "Hey, can you go take this let

I always thought it would be a cool idea if it started when We humans finally developed a ship able to make small jumps, maybe to the nearest system, Centauri. We pool all of humanity's resources to build just one ship. We make the jump and get to Centauri - only to make first contact right away... With a few small survivors of an entire planet that's been utterly destroyed. We find them in the wreckage of their freshly destroyed cities and they say this evil army came out of nowhere

These latest posts all bring up a good point for this thread - even if no proper nouns are carried over - will IDEAS be carried over? Will there be a horribly ugly race that thinks humans are the ugly ones? Will there be a race that can manipulate DNA? Mind-control all sentient creatures? One that lives in a gas giant? One that sells info for bio data? Will there be two races that combine to form a better one? What should be fair game? And what would be considered a "rip-off"?
