Tried it on my old laptop from 2012 and it did the same thing. The good thing was my gpu was a Radeon HD 7970m so it actually did not make as much heat and my 3610 cpu did not max out.

Did the signup nw to wait. If it goes like III did then I will put at lest 1k hours in alpha.
Citizens: I hinted at this in an earlier post, but didn't elaborate. The study of human interactions with games shows that game events can cause the brain to react pleasurably with a small shot of dopamine. Level-up events like a hero level up in an RPG or a planet upgrade or tech discovery in a 4X provide these events. Citizen level ups in GC3 are hohum. Unless you're paying really close attention you don't even notice them
I will use the bad ones as a way to jump to others I want. Or I make a space station. Depending on the circumstances I choose which way to go. It is part of my stratagy and fun. I will also see a bad planet witha resource I want and decide I want it regrdless of the cost. If one only wants to colonize 9 or 10 planets then do that. If another is willing to pay the price to colonize others then let them. Do you want options to enhance fun or restrictions to l
Anothe thing could be custom races built back then do not jive with requierments now. Try a generic game.
I would also go $150 for a Founders. The number of hours playing and designing more then makes up for it as long as I take breaks and rememnber real life.
there probably won't be one for GC4.
:((
All the GRM stuff and KF Planets 4.0.1 worked fine. That is where I started the game. 4.1 is when things went south. No MOD changes for months.
MY auto save. It is a few turns till research is done. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pv0rARjpnlnfGHpRFQ9Vwq_6kACn1TjN/view?usp=sharing
I have run dif games and also changed research away for a turn then back. After researching interstellar Fortification and going to the new research button the game crashes.
That what happened when I tried to run it on Linux. I can not remember where but the final map building would not load. It was either her computer our yours and you canceled out hers. That leaves me with your MP files are messed-up or blocking the incomming signal from her. Other then that I would have to say "Devs Help".
It is a wild guess but did she add any programs that would block GCMP form connecting.
I also vote yes.
It seems my sticking point to get GCIII working on Linux is my excesive list of factions I am subscribed to. How can I get rid of them on the Linux machine. The folder location. And how can I make it so I do not redownload them on the linux machine and keep them on the w10 machine.
I also like the Microsoftians. To close to reality.
3rd gen i7, 16 ram on an alienware laptop. Saying that it could also be their custom motherboard. Popos (it is the only one to recoginze a RAID boot and install) and kde desktop
I am trying to get it to work on my Linux machine and have gotten to the main menu. When I pick New Game, Campaign or Quick Start it starts to make the new galaxy but after a while it slows and then freezes. The err is useless on why so any ideas why. ATM I am going with Direct Draw.
GC uses dx so I am using wine and its partners to run dx and hopefully get gc to work
See what happens when you put the graphics to low texture. Just curious where the bottleneck is.
It may think you do not hav enough RAM even though.... In Steam properties/startup for the game put in NoMinSpecs or something like that so you can see if it is not recogizing your RAM.
I am on a Gigantic map and use admin ceners so I have more then I need.
Thanks for the input.
At the moment I use Intel but I am wondering how well III or future IV will run on AMD
It has happened to others and reported so would guess it is on their list.
Sounds like the surendering civ is what delayed your plans.
