I'm trying to solve a problem with my SatNav (TomTom). The software (TomTom HOME) will not coonnect properly with the device. So I need to remove (temporarily) ObjectDock+, where I have a tab for the system tray. If I quit OD+ I get a system tray and taskbar, whichshow for a few seconds, then never again. I also would like to unload WindowBlinds and Virtual Desktops, also temporarily. It's a pain, but I want to help the TomTom people to solve the problem, which they say is because of

Thanks for the advice Bichur. This gets curiouser and curiouser. I removed and reinstalled the Capture docklet, in D:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Docklets\Capture, in much the same way as all the other docklets. ObjectDock certainly finds then there! The result is that Capture setting is restored to the way it was when delivered (downloaded). Now, if i click on Open Capture Folder... (described in the readme file as "The Capture's docklet path") I get an error message:</

I had thought of entering a list of some of the authors whose books I have, who have not been mentioned here so far, like Zenna Henderson, Hal Clement, James Tiptree Jr, and many others, but the list became too long, and it's late. Instead, I'd like to recommend, at least as far as contemporary science fiction is concerned, a set of anthologies, called The Mammoth Book Of Best New SF, edited by Gardner Dozois and published in the UK by Constable & Robinson Ltd and in the US by St

I've had a similar problem. I separate my programs and download partitions into D: and E:, and E: is one of the smaller ones. Impulse couldn't install WindowBlinds because of lack of space on E: I have never specified E: as the preferred download partition - it just happens to be where I put stuff prior to installation. It might be smarter if Impulse chose the partition with the MOST available space instead of the LEAST available. I have a partition which is 400GB free. In Stardock Ce

I just installed an update - 1.90.033 - and the best thing about that is that at last the weather docklet is working! Pity about the idiots at Accuweather, who give me three different locations for Stockholm: Stockholm, Sweden (Jamtland) of course they can't, or rather won't, spell it right Stockholm, Sweden (Stockholm) Stockholm, Sweden (Skane)

Yes, I understood what he meant to say, but didn't like the way he said it. One of "being" and "is" is redundant. None of this gets me any closer to finding out why Capture doesn't.
how are you changing skins?
Bichur, I hadn't actually changed any skins for several months. The only thing I had done to WB was to unload it so that I could get a decent screenshot with Gadwin PrintScreen. It was after that I first really noticed that, according to Impulse, neither WB nor WindowFX were installed, in spite of the fact that I had been running with something called Impulse for

I tried to update WB. After the boot I get a message saying that I MUST boot for the installation to complete, so I booted, and got exactly the same message box. In the whole WindowBlinds folder, the latest modification, apart from ONE file (sig6.bin, last modified 2008-05-13), the latest modification was some time in 2007.

My WB folder, at D:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds doesn't contain any WBConfig.exe, except insofar as it does contain a wbconfig.exe.manifest, which is an XML file. According to both Impulse and Stardock Central, neither WindowBlinds nor WindowFX is available, and when I tried to install WB6 via Stardock Central it crashed! sdcentral.exe 2.54.00 caused exception C0000005 at address 77404DF6 (Base: 400000) Registers: EAX=0000031A EBX=0

Since the only thing I have mentioned as being added to my machine is the Capture docklet, you're not being particularly complimentary about it, calling it such names.
Crap, I have Windowblinds and object dock+ loaded and all I do is hit print screen and drop ity into PSP. No fuss, no muss.
Thanks a lot for the crap - that really helps in determining why I can't get screenshots with Capture! Anyone out there with more constructive, or less crappy, advice?

I have ObjectDock Plus. I downloaded and installed Capture, and, immediately after installation succedded in producing a screenshot, full screen, which was placed in the docklet's folder. Since then, after changing the location of screenshots, and the naming convention, I have never succeeded in getting it to do anything whatsoever, so I have no idea now how I'm supposed to get a screenshot of, for example, a particular PART of the screen. Jing, on the other hand, does a lot m

Thanks, HG_Eliminator, but I want a screenshot application which doesn't require me to manipulate a screenful in a graphics application (I already have more than one of those). The advantage with Gadwin PrintScreen is that it allows me to specify whether I want full screen, current window, client window or a rectangular area (on-screen), and places the screenshot in a specified folder with a specified naming convention. The disadvantage seems to be its lack of alpha awareness.

Well, when I hover over WindowBlinds' icon in the Tray section of my OD+ dock I get the following information: Window Blinds 6 (6.1 (build 55 X86)) That seems to suggest that I have WB6, doesn't it? BTW, how do I get a WindowBlinds configuration window. The only options I can see when I right click on the icon are: Configure WindowBlinds Unload WindowBlinds Configure WindowBlinds has no effect whatsoever. &n

Good question. I do hava an Adobe Flash Player 10 plugin installed, but that's all. Is it something I should or shouldn't have? Whichever answer leads to the question: is the requirement documented anywhere? **edited** A web site required me to install Flash this morning. Now there's a picture in the rectangle.

Running Impulse/Explore I get a number of pages of products headed by a large rectangular black area with a little white area with a red X in the top left corner. This is usually an indication of a faulty or unavailable image. What am I missing, if anything? If nothing, I can think of better uses for the real estate.

When I run either Impulse or Stardock Central I find that WindoBlinds is "available" - presumably not installed. How can that be when I have been running it for at least 2 years on my current system? The install log shows a first installation 11/16/2006, latest update 10/28/2007. The situation is the same for WindowFX, too - first installation 11/16/2006, latest update 08/04/2008.

I noticed recently that the program I use for screen shots, Gadwin PrintScreen, has some problems with WindowBlinds. When WB is running, preparing a screen shot changes the look of the screen, taking away the window frame, leaving only the client area. This means that if I send a screen shot to somebody for diagnostic purposes, it is not as I see it in real life. Unloading WB corrects the situation. Does anyone know if later versions of WB remove this problem, or if th

Not exactly a reply, just an update. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling ObjectBar, but it still came up in its crazy state. Next, I uninstalled, deleted the ObjectBar folder, and reinstalled. Now it seems to behave the way I wanted it to, and the way it always used to. I'm keeping my fingers crossed - but iyt's difrficvul5 to tyype.

I found that I had submitted a duplicate post. The one about bananas was superfluous, but, after editing it (via the edit button) and submitting the changes I was unable to back out to the forum. That must be some kind of glitch in Impulse?

I can't live with ControlCenter anymore, or ObjectBar has decided to go absolutely bananas. Since a week or so ago, when my OB ControlCenter suddenly changed its shape, I seem to have no control whatsoever over it. It always used to sit docked on the right edge of my screen, until I decided to experiment with a dual monitor, which forced me to move the bar to the top of the screen. There I have Virtual Desktops, the one component of OD I find essential, having used it since th

Recently I was offered the chance to participate in a survey - even offered a rebate! Unfortunately, it was impossible to do anything with it. After filling the first page, the only thing that happened was that I was returned to the first page. I don't particularly appreciate my time being wasted with such incompetence.

Funny, I thought I had posted a reply, but it's not here. First I apologized for incomplete information. It was only on November 21st that I noticed the 40% utilization. As far as I know, it has never done this before, and normally runs at an insignificant CPU usage (less than 0.5%), although I have had problems now and again with it hanging. Stopping the dock and starting it again appeared to clear it. Zubaz: I'm not sure that I know how to do that. Philly0381: I have

Can anyone explain to me why Object Bar should take 40% CPU when its only function is to provide virtual desktops, and I'm spending pretty well ALL my time in one desktop?
