I got the 80 GB hard drive and IDE cables in this morning. Thanks guys!

Yeah I might look into it. For now I want to finish off Yuri's Revenge. I've beat all of Generals including the expansion packs. I might try my hand at Generals again with a harder CPU setting. Might be interesting. Not sure if the tower will be here tomorrow, last check said Wednesday.
Yeah I have Command & Conquer The First Decade. It really doesn't like to play on Windows 7 without a patch or two and even then I can't get the oldest games, made for Windows 95, to work. That's OK, my favs are Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, and Generals. Wonder what C&C 4 is like. I also play a few Facebook games. that's about it other than Monopoly, The Game Of Life, and a few other kids games the kid likes to play.
No no, you misunderstand. I'm very happy that I got the card, it is a better card than I have ever had. I was just pointing out that by today's standards it may be lacking. As if I care, it will better than this 8mb onboard Intel card i am using. Maybe it will be able to play Command & Conquer with no lagging issues. That would be sweet!
Yeah the graphics card has 256 MB of memory. Not much by today's standards i guess. :)
Well I'm used to a Pentium 4 at 3 Ghz, single core. We will see I guess. Never had a quad core processor. I'm expecting the new CPU to act just like this P4 with the ability to do more in the background, that's it. And I will only have 3 GB of RAM for now, I think I gave away one of my 1 GB sticks. :(
Yeah I got the disc on Uvah. Got it in last week. I just hope that key works. I don't like calling people! LOL The memory helped Jaroepz. In fact I am using it right now. Thanks!
WOM I used Linux off and on but never really committed to making it my main operating system. Thanks for the comments guys!
I see the Norton 'dinosaurs' are still out in force...........really sad how some people can't open their minds and are historically influenced by others who still 'harp back' those times when Norton screwed themselves with a bloated resource hungry bloodhound.......but since that time............2003/2004/ 2005 I believe ..............and especially in the last few couple of years.........Norton has come along a long way a
Well at one time I had a Mac. And another time or two I had Windows 7 on a decent laptop. But yeah for the majority of my time here I have had XP even though it was on many different machines.
I just noticed that I have been a member here now for 10 years. Amazing how fast that time flew by. :)
Well I have been keeping busy. Organizing my MP3 collection, and renaming a few eBook collections one by one. Need to organize my bookmarks. Just waiting. Hopefully everything gets here Monday, and everything works. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I use AVG. I have for years. I don't use MSE. Besides flunking tests, you can't turn off the auto-update feature. I don't like anything on my machine updating itself without approval. I have always stayed away from Norton after what Jafo told me about some years ago.
This freebie is simply a taster....and once you are reg'd you'll get an email sometime suggesting you go for the 'real' ver.... and by then you'll probably be liking it enough to do so...
So it's a crippled version that has a time limit on use?
Don't forget how to spell aluminum. :)
and I ALSO dislike the ILLITERATE american'ts and their failure at spelling, most especially the word 'COLOUR'
I just love being called names. [e digicons]8(|[/e] [e digicons][/e]
Oh, and Opera 10.1 stop trying to tell me how to spell 'colour'.
That's probably happening because color is spelled without a "u".:)
Sounds like you have no email...that you check each day to me.
I check my email all the time. I have Gmail and Hotmail and they are both based online.
Don't overkill on safety, don't over maintain the machine. Just use it, and some common sense, and you'll be fine.
Exactly. :)
Whatever. Scanning everyday is overkill. Seriously. I only scan once a month with Malwarebytes and I come up clean. Why would I need to do it everyday? Waste of time and resources. I watch were I go on the net and what I download. So I don't really worry about malware.
you should be doing malware and advanced system care daily, not just when your pc feels slugish...
Overkill. Once a month will suffice.
How fast does 98 boot up on that machine Jafo? Seconds?
Last time I checked I don't give you any kind of trouble. This probably still stems from that big issue over at skinning.net with I was a moderator there. Either that or you have nothing better to do. I do my best to avoid you actually. I don't want to start any problems.
First of all, I dislike your arrogance. Who are you?!?, to speak about MS future company policy like you would own it? You are in no position to support all the claims that you have made.
Oh look. Another newbie that doesn't know me or understand me. Try getting to know me before you say what you said. The conversation was between Jafo and I. I made my points, he made his. No sense in continuing the same old discussion.
Lighten up, kona. and btw, nobody owes you an explaination for how they are. Now we got a redneck doing spellcheck and I have shit that isn't working the same since. Thanks, Terry!
WOM has a unique ability to always pick on me. It has happened before. No big deal I guess. Thanks!
I don't understand that comment WOM. Are you making fun of the situation? Why?
