I think most Americans just object to extra vowels in their words. were just lazy. I was pretty surprised (note: no 'ZEE') when sulphur changed to 'sulfa' and foetus change to 'fetus' in the US. I think the quote above is justified!

Checked FOLDER, and it is set on OPEN but C: still opens command window. Below is the Folder class from Win98, but it matches my Win2000 exactly... I think you still have to look in the Folder class... The 'Drive' seems to be a subset of 'Folder' with only the extra commands needed to make it particular to that class. Similarly with the 'Directory' class. i.e 'Drive' and "Directory' are 'children' of 'Folder' (my programmer days are waaay long in the past but this it how it looks to me). Hmmm... it sounds similar. It's still possible the HKEY_CALSSES_ROOT\Folder class is mangled a little bit... What do you get if you look in Control Panel->Folder Options->File Types->Folder & click on "Advanced"? You should see (possibly) among others 'Explore' and/or 'Open'. Are you talking about seeing the margin in the final hardcopy (printout) or just while you're editing? If it's the last then tick the 'Text Boundaries' checkbox in the 'Print & Web layout options' group of the Tools->Options->View dialog. It gives you a fine dotted line, not a grey line.
