Get the Sony DRU-500A (or it's newer cousin - 510?). As c242 says above, it handles all formats of DVD & CD. From my reading the DVD+ format is better technically (more robust burning methods etc) but the DCD- format has been on the market longer & is therfore supported by more DVD players.
