There's no game I want to be playing more than GalCiv. This is bad because I won't play games until I play the one I want to. And I just got on my term break for the week. It's going to be a long week. > "So we'd play the game and see something and think "Hmm, the AI should have accepted that deal." or "Hmm, the AI should have noticed I was beefing up my star bases with culture and weapons" and so on." THAT is what's important in a gam

What if you do become strong enough? Declare war, break the tribute and beat down the opponent. Make them pay you tribute for peace. Renegotiation, it could be called. :p Honestly, I just think it makes more sense that tribute stops when you're at war with who you're paying. That way, they're less likely to go to war with you because they want the money.

I'm hoping this might be one of those things fixed in a patch. 'cuz it doesn't make sense. Of course, you can't get back money already paid... but no new money should be paid. Debts of any kind should cancel when at war, and they shouldn't come back.

If you're at war with someone, what are you paying the tribute for? You're supposedly paying them to not attack you, so if they attack you, you shouldn't have to pay. Easy, simple, and the guy attacking you shouldn't be trusted by the AI, not you for not paying.

I don't know. I think it would make for some soggy toast, personally. I see the Yor dressed up like the maid from the Jetsons, doing maidy-things. "Clean my room for me!" *mutter liquify for my toast mutter*

Because I'll be in New Hampshire, where we're tax free anyway! And GameStop, the store, offers free shipping if you take the game home in your car. :p Actually I might buy it online with that offer and get it shipped to my Dorm instead of home... GalCiv for an extra couple days, and a GalCiv Theme manager. Not bad.

I'm sick of hearing people complaining about a game not being tested. Maybe people should start buying from companies that can't afford to release a below-average game. I hope when Stardock gets big they remember how they got there!

I hope to see a demo. But sometimes games are programmed in such a way that it'd be far too easy to turn a demo into the full game. Especially customizable games.

I swear, I'll be screaming at the screen. "I'd never say that! Never! Stupid game!" Even if I go change it, though, their reaction to it would still be negative. Better to know what they're actually hearing, right?

I'd pay $70 to play it now. If it's not what I want then I'll have wasted a month of my life pining for a game I didn't even like... I have faith in Stardock though. They did Corporate Machine and I loved that. Of course, I got it as a Christmas gift... sister had $3 and asked if there was anything she could get me for that, and I was like, "Well, there is a $3 game I've had my eye on..." Political Machine sounds like it will be neat, and Stellar Frontier is awesome. So I'll just wait for Ga

As for the Royal Family idea... In Foundation the Emperor changed due to assassination more often than not. Every once in a while there would be military coups from sectors that wanted to install an emperor more favorable to themself. I think I should read that book again, to get ready for an empire building game. :P

Quicken rocks. I love playing around with Quicken. Of course, I'm studying to be an accountant, with a goal to later in life get into programming, and maybe someday game programming...er... maybe accountants DID make it. ^^

I'd never heard/bothered with games like this before... what's 4x mean, anyway? But, I have played Civilization and this sounds like a cross between that and a game that makes sense. All the good parts of Civ but in space, with new stuff! Tell me if I'm wrong, but that's my interpretation of how gameplay would be. I hope it is, but with added stuff like UP and great AI! AI isn't a big thing for me, though, 'cuz I'm horrible at games. Doh. Maybe a turn based game is what I need so I have tim

I'm a little wary of the free bonus coming with a game. Sim City 4 did that, and it caused a crash bug that would not have occured without it installed! I hope you have the bonus content tested thoroughly before you just throw it into a game. I don't expect that to happen, though. Stardock and their development of this game seems like they actually care about the customer, unlike certain companies I could name.
