Think of the minimap... will someone please think of the minimap!

I don't think so. If the community goes crazy with mods, which I hope it does, a strategy guide could be obsolete very soon. But, if you do it as an online, updatable type thing, you have it made. I hope mods will only be approved for Metaverse scores if they don't upset the scores... as in, you can only score as high as you could without it.
But all those times it wasn't pausing completely threw off my game, yanno? :D
Nidaros... that was hell, going through the Options to change every single message setting to 'Show Message and Pause.' Took forever...
1602 AD Various others that have already been mentioned are on my list, too. EU2 probably the one that stands out to me most. Though the original Civ was great fun, and Sim City too...
No way, what if someone manages to make the AI harder to beat! *shivers*
I'm liking a split system, but I'd like to try out this system first.
I'd rather play against the AI that's as inept as me and having the same resources as me, personally. Then it would really feel like multiplayer. "A 50 ship fleet, eh? Not a threat, he's just protecting me, yanno." *grin*
Make them be King, not based on you, but on the real world... King as long as people are willing to let you be King. And if a palace guarded by 500 people is enough for them to let you be King, so be it! Hehe... anyone can be King but that doesn't mean they can order everyone around... in the end they'd still have to be a RP character.
And when I hit the pick six I'll put it into development. Heheheh.
All clear now. Makes sense. Of course, the original intent of my statement "You should have said that" meant you should have said that the AI didn't get resource bonuses and made it so. But if this works, good. Can't wait!
Well, maybe you should've said that. :D But I'm sure I'll enjoy the game and not even notice, because it really isn't something I'd notice as a player, but moreso when I read it I feel that it's making up for something. I'm guessing it won't feel like that in this game. :CONGRAT:
Java, I'm sure you'll be ruler again in no time. :D
Man, all that about the AI not cheating... and they get 'resource bonuses.' *coughcheatercough*
An AI that screams CHEATER when you lose, even if you didn't cheat...
I thought I wanted to play the old SNES version of Civ, but I couldn't be bothered to hook up the SNES. :P The AI would have bothered me, I'm sure.
Well I've always wanted to see a game that starts out as a FPS and builds itself up to a tactical game, and then further to a strategic scope... not gonna happen, but maybe three games where what happens in one can be loaded into the next at a certain military rank... but could be played seperately. Hey, that would work good with a subscription service. ;)
Well, 'intelligent' people sometimes make mistakes and don't see threats as threats... or is that just beginner people. :(
10-1 time ratio! Nice! It'll be like GalCiv will come out in 2 days! woohoo!
I just want to comment on the Brad Wardell articles... must reads... Makes me want to start a retail store to cater to the unpublished gamer market... and a game magazine... and so on... and makes me very against becoming a game developer.
I highly recommend playing The Corporate Machine. That game just rocks. Great job, Frogboy, hope GalCiv is everything you promise. What's the latest patch for TCM? 1.2 is what I have but I heard there was higher versions... couldn't find them.
Heh... just goes to show you... Stardock spends their time on the software, not the forums... Makes sense to me.
Sounds like a niche market? :)
The one game didn't have to suffer... they messed it up.
I've never bought a game just because I liked the company. But, I believe when the Political Machine demo comes out I'll check it out. Or maybe if I get a job I'll join Drengin.net :p Elemental is a Sherlock Holmes detective style game... heh. Mobilization is an Apex style racing game... you build your car and try to sell it, racing it to make it more popular. Well, it could happen...
